Godspeed Atlantis! I'll be watching you from up close.
And I want one of those Atlantis T-shirts that the NSF guys are sporting.
Update: Just stepped out to the beach to catch a glimpse of Atlantis' destination ... ISS coming up over the northern horizon.

"Everyone who achieves success in a great venture, solves each problem as they came to it. They helped themselves. And they were helped through powers known and unknown to them at the time they set out on their voyage. They keep going regardless of the obstacles they met.
W. Clement Stone "
as the beginning of the end comes to be, god speed Atlantis you've done a marvelous job and wish you the best, may you come back to us safely and swiftly. and when you hear "wheel stop welcome home Atlantis" may you finally retire in peace knowing you've done such a miraculous job. (yes i'm aware it may not be her last lol)

I wont be able to say this much longer but:
May the Angels ride with you - from Liftoff all the way to Wheels stop.
*****************************************************
Godspeed the crew of Atlantis. Rise Up, show the world that there is still power, glory and majesty in Human Achievement. Show the naysayers - whom I hear regularly saying, even in this 21st Century; 'It's all a waste of money' blah, blah blah.
Rise up, on your pillars of man-made fire and astonish the ignorant. Inspire the children who lately; have had their bright and shining future in the sky pushed further and further forward into Time...
Rise Up. Show them ALL what it means to be Astronauts, what it means to be a SPACESHIP.
RISE UP!! And show the Human Race that the Future is lit by Rocket Light....

My favourite orbiter too. To some people, it might seem silly to say this about a machine, but the girl is so much more:
Godspeed Atlantis. Thanks for everything and we're gonna miss you.

Godspeed Atlantis on your ultimate mission.
STS-51-J to STS-132.
1985 to 2010.
Now let's get her home safely and park her for all the world to see at the Intrepid Air & Space Museum!

How things have changed in 25 years. I had to miss the launch of 51-J on TV because I was working. It was one of only four launches I didn't see on TV, or in person. Now today I was able to watch 132 lift off right on my computer at my work desk. If only we had the web, and all these other sources of info and social networking back in the early days of shuttle.

Not silly at all. I always say Discovery is my favorite because it was the first one I saw fly, way back in 1984. I also think it has the best name of the orbiters.

I watched on my work computer too, and had such a rush of emotion when she cleared the tower, I cried. Was glad I was in my office by myself--co-workers know me as the space geek anyway...
Following this flow has been hard -- and I don't work in the industry, just love HSF and Shuttles in particular.

I love going out to the bars and coming home and not seeing any news - Seriously, that means everything is OK. Nothing better than a boring mission - at least for those of us with a badge.

Some shots I took of the launch from the SR528 causeway on Merritt Island. Nice weather. I really like #6 as it seems I got the SRBS just as they seperated.

You have been an amazing ship, from your very first flight, to your international missions, your Hubble repair missions, and now, sadly, your last flight.
We will miss you dearly.
Godspeed Atlantis on your journey home, and thank-you for keeping the loved ones in your care safe.

Welcome back Atlantis. We will miss your many years of great service. Thanks for keeping your crew safe.
Let's pray those in congress can right this wrong, and support the ISS with your continued flying along with your sister ships.
A special thank-you to all those who made her history of flight possible; it was a sight to behold.

Welcome home Atlantis!
Your entire flight, I could hear your screams. From launch to landing, you were just howling "FLY ME AGAIN!"
Godspeed Atlantis. Looking forward to meeting you up close when you're berthed at the Intrepid Air & Space Museum.

Welcome home Atlantis and a job well done. It was a blast visiting you at the pad and watching you lift off to watching you land safely back home one last time... No matter where you end up, you will be treated like a queen, a well deserved reward after 120 million miles.
As I'm reminded, don't cry because it's over, smile because it happend; and there sure are lots of good memories to smile about.
