Great to see so many from outside the U.S. coming in! I'm from Texas so I obviously don't count, but it's awesome to see the foreign support! And Robert - I'm in that same boat. Saw Discovery on the back of the SCA after STS-128 last September.

Even if you don't have the full details, any idea roughly what time the gathering might get started? I ask because today is the 21-day-advance-purchase for flights, and many (at least for me) are arriving fairly late on Thursday.
Thanks,

Hello all,
O.K. Here is the information some of you have been waiting very patiently for!
STS-132 NSF PRE-LAUNCH DINNER!!!!!!!!!
Dinner for all NSF forum members (and those who may be travelling with you. Remember, everyone is welcome) will be held on Thursday, May 13 at 7:30p.m. at Dixie Crossroads in Titusville, FL. This is the day before the scheduled launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis and the STS-132/ULF-4 mission. We will hold dinner at 7:30p.m. due to the retraction of the RSS from Atlantis earlier that afternoon at 5:00p.m.
IMPORTANT INFO: Please respond to this message with a PM on THIS SITE (some of you know me through facebook, but I ask that you please RSVP to this invite on NSF so that all information is kept in one place). In the PM (AND THIS IS IMPORTANT), please include your real name, the number of people who will be attending the dinner with you, and a cell phone number that you can be reached at while you are in Titusville. (Please note that I
WILL NOT pass on your cell number to anyone! It will be kept strictly confidential. I ask for a cell phone number because there has been some confusion on restaurant’s part in the past that has prevented people from meeting up with our group.)
It is very, VERY important that you include the number of people in your party as I will be calling the restaurant to make reservations.
ALSO, I ASK THAT YOU PLEASE INCLUDE ALL THIS INFORMATION IN ONE (1) PM, PLEASE. I AM FINISHING UP COLLEGE/UNIVERSITY AND GRADUATING IN EARLY MAY AND AS SUCH CANNOT DEVOTE A GREAT DEAL OF TIME TO TRACKING DOWN INFORMATION FROM MULTIPLE PMs.On May 13 (for dinner), I ask that you ALL arrive
NO LATER THAN 7p.m. as Dixie Crossroads will not seat us until we are all there! The earlier we all arrive, the earlier we can EAT!
Please note that Dixie Crossroads is a seafood restaurant. A complete menu (including non-seafood items) can be found at the following link along with driving directions.
http://www.dixiecrossroads.com/ PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL NO LATER THAN MAY 7, 2010 AT 7p.m. EDT (I will call the restaurant at 7:30p.m. May 7 to make the reservations.)[/i][/u]
For all of you travelling up, down, over, around to Titusville to witness the final launch of orbiter Atlantis, I wish you all safe travels and clear skies. GO ATLANTIS and GO STS-132/ULF-4!!!!

Looking for a cell phone to adhere to the 'one e-mail' policy

I can't stand cell phones...despise them. But now I seem to need one due to the 'out of town' circumstances, and how fluid this whole situation could play out, so best to have one.
Don't worry, I'll make the e-mail deadline

When I visited the launch of STS-114 and STS-121, I allways wore a NASASpaceflight.com T-Shirt. Some people asked me about it, and learned that way that this incredible website exists. I also met some forum member just be because he saw my shirt. If you see someone on May 14th at the KSC wearing a T-shirt with a NASASpaceflight.com logo on it, it's probably me.

For those in Melbourne, Australia:
I am a member of The Space Association of Australia, we are a non profit interest group and run a weekly community radio show and have monthly meetings.
Next week we have a meeting and will be the last (hopefully) before STS-132 launch! Three of our group are coming over for the launch.
If you are able, listen to the show at 7pm on 88.3 FM on Wednesday 5th and/or come along to the meeting in Oakleigh on Thursday 6th at 7 pm!

Been a fair bit of flight disruption today from UK airports. Manchester flight was 6 1/2 hours late departing, Gatwick flight is still on the ground tracking a 10 hour delay. I would think delays like that would have effects for a few days. Exactly 12 hours between when I land to my Dolphin pickup. Im not worried.......... honest!!

Im not worried.......... honest!!
not to make you feel bad, but the weather in Titusville is awesome.

Just arrived in Orlando. The Trans Atlantic flight was delayed for an hour because of flying a longer route around Iceland.... No problem though!

Just got in last night. Staying at the Super 8 motel which turns out to be much better than expected.
Planning on being there tonight.
@TISM: can you help me out please. I've tried everything to get some decent tickets to see the launch but everything failed. Any suggestion would be very welcome! See you tonight!
@jdwjdw (Joost), too bad you can't make it to the dinner! Coming in too late?

I travelled to the US from Australia around this very time last year to see Atlantis (STS 125) launch.
My husband, the two children (ages then were 11 and 5) and I were lucky enough to view the launch from the causeway - thrilling to be there !
This NSF site and the contributors on this forum were an enormous help in my general planning and I have them to thank for our being successful in viewing a live launch.
That particular launch date had been brought forward a day - I read about that here on this forum first, and had ample time to change our travel arrangements.
So- good luck and safe journey to all those travelling many miles to see this launch - especially my fellow Aussies - and ...
Go Atlantis !!
