Hello all! I likely missed it in the plethora of posts, but does anyone know how many “racks” the current version of Cygnus can carry? I understand much of the cargo that goes to ISS is in cargo bags, and not the rack structure, but I’m guessing it can carry some powered racks? Thanks!

Cygnus can provide station keeping for ISS ftom next mission.

Didn't Cygnus already demo an ISS reboost on an earlier mission? How did that work if it previously wasn't able to gimbal the main engine to align with the ISS's center of mass?

May have used smaller maneuvering engines which aren't as efficient.

No, it can't carry an ISPR because it is a smaller diameter

That checks… I forgot about the hatch opening size. That said, any idea how many “rack stations” exist in the Cygnus before it’s loaded with cargo? (Ie, spots things are bolted in/strapped down)
Are it’s cargo “rack” areas powered?

OA-9E did that reboost with a 50 second burn of it's main engine.

Correct. AFAIR the ISS reoriented for it similar to the shuttle reboosts of the stack.

That could bring one huge ORU! Or a whole module ;-)

Have they bid the four segment Cygnus?

I went ahead, I have already made the 4-segment Cygnus Enhanced model.

August 2nd updates from the International Space Station Research and Development Conference
Planned:“Mission B” Variant: 4 segment version debuts with NG-23 in 2025
Uprated from 3750kg (3 segment "enhanced" version) to 5000kg of cargo.
Mass growth is concurrent with extra lift capability of Antares 330
Studying:Switching to docking (presumably with IDS) vs berthing
Increasing production rate to 2 vehicles a year
Capability to do multiple reboosts per mission for the ISS and other commercial stations (note that they are also bidding for the ISS deorbit vehicle based on Cygnus)

There appears to be a lot of contention for the two IDS ports on ISS already. Would they (NASA?, NG?) add another IDSS port to ISS?

Isn't the Shooting Star module from Dream Chaser basically an IDSS-to-CBM adapter? I have to imagine they've at least considered the possibility of leaving one of those behind, rather than taking it for disposal...
