Wow the last launch I was at was STS-91 too. But I live in Florida, I will always be asking myself why I did not go over there more often.
This pic is a little late to the party, but it took a while for me to clean it up. Still working on a higher res version to posterize for my office, hope you guys like! =)

How did you do that? I was there at 5 am and tried to get a shot like that but the lights did not show up on my pictures.

Pic was taken from roughly here
http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&ll=28.418315,-80.62466&spn=0.006369,0.010847&z=17around midnight the night before launch. It's a composite of about 30 different exposures. The longer exposures brought out the light beams, and the short ones got the details of the stack. Used some astro-photography software to stack the images to get rid of the air and humidity effects from shooting across 12 miles of Florida air, then fused the different exposures together.
In interests of full-disclosure, I added the extended water reflection on the bottom since it got cut off by the road and shoreline in the original one. Hope it's not too much =p
Took less time than I thought to do the finished version =) Hope you all like!
Fantastic Naito, thanks for the explanation

It's one of the best photos like that I've seen.
Can't access, please ATTACH the photo to the post.
Darn I think my problem was the exposure was set too short. Not sure I will have another chance to get a early morning shot like that
