Im not 100% sure but if you check on google earth I think the line of sight is obstructed by the VAB.
It depends on where you are. From the Clarion Hotel (just north of the Titusville side of the causeway), both pads are clearly visible.

VAB blocks the view of 39A from the AHOF.

My roommate's computer went through to a "ticket selection" page where it says tickets are currently not for sale - should we stay on that page or go back to the waiting room? Seems like the page you want to advance too but not sure if it will work when tickets become available or if a refresh is required, which will take us back to the waiting room.
I am in the 15-second refreshing waiting room on my computer.

Yeah, I don't think it will work either after I've seen it for awhile, seems like it was generated in error. It does not automatically refresh and based on the URL's I believe if I refresh it will go back to the waiting room.

I agree, it looks like when it took you beyond the 15-second refresh page, that was an error. In the 15-second refresh page, it does say Welcome to the virtual waiting room.

Every 15 seconds my heart rate rises just a little bit as I ask myself, "Is this going to be the time I get through?"

Has anyone got an opinion as to how long "an extended period of time" is? ie at what point do I start looking at gator Tours etc?

It said the virtual waiting room opens at 8 and tickets are on sale at 9. So if you get past the virtual waiting room, do you have to wait until 9 to purchase? Or are people purchasing before 9 if they get past the waiting room?

From what I understand the VWR is just a "feel-good" measure to let you know everything it working, and to allow them to keep too many people from getting into the ticketing system at once. No ticket sales until 9am.

No, when you get past the waiting room before 9 it tells you tickets aren't on sale, I believe it is an error on their part and you shouldn't get through until after 9. Additionally, it appears if you get past it before 9, you need to refresh and go back into the waiting room.
