I see a lot talk about gator, what about florida dolphin tours? According to the ksc site they are also approved. Are they ok to purchase from? They appear to have the same policies as gator, just not nearly as many pickup locations.
I've used Dolphin, they were fine ... but you hit on the main drawback, pickup locations. They don't have any Titusville locations (at least they didn't when I used them). If you're staying in Orlando, that's fine, but it can be a pain if you're already in Titusville. -

I just booked my tickets with florida dolphin. They have two pickup locations, orlando and cocoa beach. We're staying further south, so the cocoa beach pick worked best fo us. They seem to be the most expensive, but at least I'm assured tickets!

Their site indicates "sales will resume soon". I suspect they have a cooperation agreement with DNC to do sales simultaneously.
are sold out too, or they stopped selling them.
FWIW, as additional background (sourced from other posts here or calls to the vendors, I don't remember), the reason KSC/DNC outsources to these other tour operators is that they don't have enough buses to fill the causeway. When I was out for the STS-119 launch, I'd guess there was space for at least twice as many people as were actually there. I walked a few hundred feet down from where the masses were and found a space right on the river instead of being back 10 deep.does any of you know/ have experience, if KSC Tours (around the pads etc) are still available one day before launch ?
STS-119 was an evening launch, and they were doing regular tours (minus the pad stop) up until about L-4 hours. I was standing at the Saturn V exhibit (Banana Creek VIP site) thinking I should just stow away in a corner for a few hours

Just out of curiosity, for someone who doesn't have to fly over an ocean to get to Florida, are there reasonable views from Titusville, Cocoa Beach or other places on the mainland? I was thinking of flying over at the last moment, and just driving down to Titusville to watch the launch.

STS-132 NSF PRE-LAUNCH DINNER!!!!!!!!!
Dinner for all NSF forum members (and those who may be travelling with you. Remember, everyone is welcome) will be held on Thursday, May 13 at 7:30p.m. at Dixie Crossroads in Titusville, FL. This is the day before the scheduled launch of Space Shuttle Atlantis and the STS-132/ULF-4 mission. We will hold dinner at 7:30p.m. due to the retraction of the RSS from Atlantis earlier that afternoon at 5:00p.m.
IMPORTANT INFO: Please respond to this message with a PM on THIS SITE (some of you know me through facebook, but I ask that you please RSVP to this invite on NSF so that all information is kept in one place). In the PM (AND THIS IS IMPORTANT), please include your real name, the number of people who will be attending the dinner with you, and a cell phone number that you can be reached at while you are in Titusville. (Please note that I WILL NOT pass on your cell number to anyone! It will be kept strictly confidential. I ask for a cell phone number because there has been some confusion on restaurant’s part in the past that has prevented people from meeting up with our group.)

Unfortunately, In the event of a scrub once guests have been transported to the Shuttle Viewing Site (NASA Causeway) they do not mention an opportunity to buy a Launch Transportation Ticket (LTT) for the next attempt but instead they say about next attempt that people "would view from the main Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex (not the VIP Shuttle Launch site)".
It is strange, why they would not stop by the Visitor Center on the way back to give people an opportunity to buy Launch Transportation Ticket (LTT) for the next attempt?

I'm trying to get down to Titsuville for this one, but that is only if they delay to May 15th or the 16th. Anyone know if I can get better than the Astronaut Hall of Fame?

Probably because 15000-20000 people are trying to get home....
I'm mean it's a big traffic jam after launch.
During STS-130 mission Gator Tours do offer Causeway tickets to us after the first scrub. Cost: $55 ($20 for ticket + $35 for transportation).

Most sites along US 1 in Titusville from the Clarion Inn (just north of the NASA Causeway) northward, will offer an unobstructed view of LC 39 A.
I believe the view from the Astronaut Hall of Fame, besides being a bit further away may not have a clear view of the pad. -

Astronaut HOF is in Titusville, just further south - I believe it's correct that there is not an unobstructed view of the pad, plus being so far south it's further away. No reason to choose there over Titusville...plus Titusville is a whole lot cheaper.

Im not 100% sure but if you check on google earth I think the line of sight is obstructed by the VAB.
