Looking at this photo:

it looks like the Klest TV camera has been replaced, along with the standard headlight fixture.

I've written here (http://www.forum-conquete-spatiale.fr/russie-f9/iss-amarrage-de-progress-m-05m-le-1er-mai-2010-t10582-75.htm) that this hardware was already visible on Progress M-04M, but not on Progress M-03M...

Nope.

The Klest camera and the headlight are still mounted on Progress M-05M's refueling compartment, but the white object seems to be located 90 degrees from the camera, exactly where the Soyuz "cupola" is located.

Since closeup images of the Soyuz cupola and of this white object indicate that some sort of lens is mounted in both, I would guess that Energia is in a period of transition from the old Klest camera to some sort of new camera, and is flight testing the camera now.

Ooops, I guess I have been asleep at the switch, this photo of Progress M-65 shows a similar attachment:

About Progress M-05M

I searched for information about the white lateral bulb in front of Progress M-05M and expected to see the same device outside later Progresses. What is this device? Is it something connected to the atmospherical experiments conducted by M-05M in autonomous flight after undocking?
