Broken man-made things can be fixed (if you find the pieces).

Looking at these launch videos, I couldn't detect whether the Russian launch pads use sound suppression water deluge systems which are common on larger US launch pads. Thanks in advance for any info.

Esa also uses  water for Ariane 5...
but for soyuz I think not..I have not seen something like that  on these launches..the biiig vapor cloud  is easy to see...
maybe because soyuz is small ,its enough the fire pit

I think all russian (soviet) rockets are designed to launch without water sound suppression. Remember: Baikonur is located in a dry steppe region. So, where should the large amount of water come from??

Only Energia used a water system on the launch pad and I think it was both for cooling the launch pad and for sound suppression.

What's that red vapour that comes out of the bottom of the Protons at launch?

Great compilation. The last 4 launches were the best. Proton M-03M was absolutely fenomenal.

In fact, any Proton launch is mesmerising. It just looks so heavy, but then - full throttle and it slowly lifts off the pad...
