So now the flight day highlights package runs for a full hour (on a day off) so the PAO has just enough time to come on and say it is time to run the flight day highlights package again (and again, and again).

Which is a good thing. I'm not sure if you listen much during the sleep periods during normal ops, but when the crew is asleep - nothing happens. There's no space/ground comms. So you'd be looking at a blank screen with no sound, or we can get highlights.
