I'm in the Cocoa Beach/Rockledge/Titusville area for the week and was wondering if any of the space coast locals could recommend some good "local" places to eat. I'm thinking seafood... Say Red Lobster on 520 and I will know the sun has gotten to you ;)

Thanks,

Chris if to far off topic, feel free to delete...

Grills in Port Canaveral is good (seafood), Roberto's (Cuban) in downtown Cocoa Beach is excellent, and Goombay's in Satellite Beach (south of Patrick AFB) is also very good (grilled skewers of seafood, chicken, etc).

In September, my family ate several times at a place called Dogs on 520.  Its in the same parking lot as Walmart.

Great/wonderful food.

When I was down there this past August, a few of us ate at a resturant called Sunset Grill right on Banana River; Food was good, and recommended by the info lady at KSC. Can't remember exactly where, but was only a 15 minute drive south.

Yeah, they hate waiting in the long lines.  I highly recommend the rock shrimp platter.

Better food else where, with better service and condiments that aren't package like ketchup packets.

Myself, I'd go to Fishlips just next door.

Gregory's Steak & Seafood down in Cocoa Beach is well worth a visit.

Thai Thai's is great for Sushi, so too is Siam Orchid.

If you want food on the beach, head for the Cocoa Beach Pier, there is a variety of restaurants there (Saturday & Sunday lunch is *BUSY*).

In downtown Titusville, I really enjoy going to Kloiber's Cobbler Eatery.

I always recommend Cafe Margo in Cocoa Village on the mainland -- there are no better restaurants in the whole region IMHO (Fusion Bistro was actually even better, but they closed :( ).   I warn you that your wallet will get quite a bit lighter in there though ;)

Grills Seafood is one of my must-hits everytime I'm in the KSC area.  Great food and reasonable prices.  There's a couple other small places in Port Canaveral that are great, as well.

If you're in the mood for a great sit-down meal, one of my favorite restaurants anywhere is Pompano Grill in Cocoa Beach.  It's a one-man operation in the kitchen, very fresh fish (the owner fishes for some of it personally, the rest is all sourced from local Port Canaveral fishermen) prepared extremely well.  Great steaks and house-made desserts, as well.

I really like Paul's Smokehouse on US 1 in Titusville.  It is right across the river from LC39 and it gives you a pleasent view.  Good food, good sized portions, friendly staff, and not expensive.

Shuttles Bar&Grill, next to SpaceShirts on Merrrit Island. Food is decent, but I liked the stuff on the walls.

When's the last time you were there?  I was just there last week. Good food, good service, and ketchup in a bottle.

The question I would like to know (for my trip next November), is where is the best steak/chicken? I don't eat seafood. Quality, not quantity.
