This is a video I made of my Ares V rocket launch. Same as with last time the #2 camera failed to operate , so all you get is the first second or two of launch   . With further ado:

That soundtrack made me keep looking for Ewoks to pop out somewhere.

Hey guys,
Check out the STS-125 AXM preview on the zealot forum! It looks great and will explain why I have had such limited time for NSF. It will be a great model!  :)

This is a follow  on to the Ares V I crashed last week. It is heavily modified from the paper kit by Ton Noteboom, downsized to 1:192 scale. The wraps are from the Dr. Zooch Box-O-stuff.

For the past week or so, I've been working on Dr. Zooch's neat sport scale model of the Saturn I SA-5.  Those of you interested in our space program's history know the significance of this early version of the Saturn series.

As for the model itself, I just have a few minor external detailing and the dummy nozzles and it's done.  More later.....

Ok, I'm back!  Only this time with a short launch report. Just returned from a model rocket club sport launch and got to fly my 1/60 scale Vostok and 1/8 scale Black Brant - II.  Don't have a liftoff pic of the Vostok (that will come later; a professional photographer was present & took plenty of high resolution pics that I should be receiving shortly).

Launch took place at our launch site down in Needville, TX.

I came across this on a LEGO blog - a truly stunning Shuttle stack, launch tower, launch platform, and crawler vehicle - completely made from 65,000 LEGO bricks. It’s in Japan, part of Nasu Highland Amusement Park. Apparently it took 1,590 man hours to complete.

Some more pics of the Vostok & Black Brant - II launch, these taken by David Laney.

To all following AXM models. All AXM updates(not releases) will be coming from papermodelers.com now rather than Zealot. :)

Beautiful model displayed there, lighting underneath is a bit of an interesting choice but none the less, that is a wicked awesome model.

Lunar Reconaissance Orbiter:
Even though I'm on vacation, I  always take a few models to work on. Since today marked LRO going into orbit around the moon, I thought I'd do something to  commemorate the event.

Well, after a hiatus I've begun gluing and sanding again.  After watching STS-125 go up, I got inspired to start my Revell Space Shuttle Launch Tower and stack kit.  Here's a couple of pics showing progress:

I'll even excitedly look forward to "flags and footprints" and suborbital missions. Just fly...somewhere.
