The Revell ISS is fairly expensive.  There are paper models you can download for free and they are tailorable to suit a given construction point...

The wonderful thing is, if you mess up, must print out another part.

A quick question as I'm having trouble positioning the Airlock for my Skylab model,
If your looking at the front (as if you were docking),with the A.T.M on "top" then at what clock position would the Airlock hatch be ?
Its the only thing that's stopping me getting the model finished,
Thanks,
JJ..

Real Space Models sells the Ares I model.  realspacemodels.com

Someone sells 1/48 scale Orion/Artimas models, but I forget who and where I saw it.

From the charts I've checked, that would be at about 8 o'clock.

"From the charts I've checked, that would be at about 8 o'clock."

Thanks,but ..
After much searching (about 4 hours constant) it looked like it'd be centred on the 10o'clock position,
When I lined up the joins in the paper the airlock came to the same position,
It looks like its the top left quarter of the cone thats missing, when viewed face on,(as wolverine's model)
I should'v just trusted the designer

Strange how theres hardly any images out there showing the Airlock,
it took this model to teach me that the crew didn't use the 2nd Docking Hatch for eva's !,

Thanks,
JJ..

Quick scale question for you guys. Math has never been my subject, so this sort of thing makes me question if I am right or not.

I have a 1/96 paper model and I want to print it as a 1/144 model to match my other two.

This is a 66% difference. If I print the 1/96 model and set the print scale factor to 66%, will that give me a 1/144 model?

I've got just the thing for you.

I'm not a math-ie either, and I really don't like having to sit there and wonder if I figured it out correctly, so I love conversion tools.

Attached is a great one. Found it on one of the paper modeling forums I haunt, and it does just what you are looking for.

Hope this helps!

Oh man! What a fantastic build!

Tell me, just out of curiosity...

Were the instructions clear and did the parts fit properly?

I kinda built as I went along in the design, so I know what I did. How did things go for you?

Great job man!!

I repainted the Ares I kit on Jon Leslie's site, I'll post it as soon as I can work the bugs out of it.
it's paper btw.
