I found some reference material on the R-& for modellers. http://www.ninfinger.org/~sven/models/vault2006/R-7%20Photos/index.html I'm trying to build a 1/72 scale replica of the Soyuz R-7 rocket, but I'm stuck on a finding a comparrison drawing of it next to the shuttle so I have baseline to build the model from.

Here's another link I found http://www.ninfinger.org/~sven/models/vault2007/R-7/index.html

I am building AXM shuttle payloads and I thought it was time to show a photo of them.

The payloads are here http://www.axmpaperspacescalemodels.com/ some are free and some are 'to buy' through paypal.

I have a build thread here http://forum.zealot.com/t157193/

I am interested in acquiring a model of a F1 engine as shown on Flickr

   http://www.flickr.com/photos/15546720@N08/

As background, I am the managing partner of a high technology venture capital here in the Research Triangle Park of NC. Our firm specializes in starting companies from scratch around breakthrough technologies and technologists.

Rather than decorate our office with paintings, we have decided to invest and develop a private collection of patent models and models of outstanding examples of engineering. In this pursuit, I am looking to acquire 5-10 engine models that represent the pinnacle of design of their time.

We would be a cash buyer of these models and we are prepared to properly value them as works of art. We also may be interested in commissioning several engines to be built for us. This could be of interest to someone who has built one model and still has the tooling available.

Our collection will be assembled and displayed to inspire fledgling entrepreneurs to pursue their dreams. We also want to convey to these folks, and the community at large, that we are very respectful of the process of innovation and craftsmanship.

Please e-mail me at [email protected] if you are interested in exploring these ideas.

Thanks,

Andy

I just wanted to put in an extra plug in for the 2 web sites that I am building models from/displaying.

The photo in my last post, above, is now picture of the week at http://forum.zealot.com/t157193/ Great bunch of guys over there and much fun to be had.

The models are from http://www.axmpaperspacescalemodels.com/ He keeps on building the ISS, so keep droping in to see new models released.

On card models, does spraying a fixative on them work to keep your fingers from lifting off ink-jet ink? I can assemble them reasonably well but they are always fingerprinted to some degree.

Hey Andy, check your private messages.  Unfortunately, the kit is not in production at the current time.  I don't know if Custom Replicas will make another run.

I've been working on the rest of my orbiter fleet for some time but have made some progress on Discovery, Atlantis and Endeavor.  Here are some photos of my orbiter assembly line.  Hope you enjoy them.

And After painting is done.  I still need to paint the payload bay doors and the main engines and OMS pods then they will be ready for the final touches.

I was just browsing in a model shop and found a model of the Mercury capsule, with detailed interior, escape tower and vinyl figure,
Although the model has no "booster" rocket included,

EDIT: its this one, http://kits.kitreview.com/mercurycapsuleeviewgk_1.htm
and costs £39.99 (U.K)
Im on the verge of going back for it,

Does any one know anything of this model ?

Thanks,

JJ..

You can find them on ebay or tower hobbies has them the cheapest that I've found.  This is the link to tower hobbies.  http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXLUW3&P=7

The kit is the Revell of Germany Kit and has the updated decals.  I've built this kit as well and found there are fit problems around the windows and cargo bay doors.  The kit is definitely worth the price for the decals and boosters but I've been using older Revell orbiters from the 80's since they have better fit with windows and cargo bay doors.

I recently finished the build of a flying scale model rocket of the
Thor - Agena B, using mostly parts from SEMROC.  This is a clone of
the vintage Estes Industries K-28 model from the mid to late 1960's
and early 1970's.

greetings fellow modelrs... got some updated pics for everyone here... first up in my 1/144 Mir station with the New Ware PE upgrade.. i dont like the color on all the modules except the core but i am gonna reshoot them with a better tan... it almost came out in a peach...  still have to put the handrails in most places but it came out pretty good..

next up is my 1/144 discovery.. i have hangin on the wall next to ISS as if to dock... also with new ware PE in progress of install.. i put the MLPM from the IMR in the payloadbay sort of a salute to STS-114 return to flight.

last up is my 1/72 endevour with thee realspacemodels payloadbay and resin engines.. waiting on a better set of decals to upgrade to the new look evealon markings and possible tile markings on the bottom of the shuttle if i can find umm

oh wait... here is one pic of my 1.125 ariene 5.. quick shot..lol
