Here's some photos of my shuttle model that I've been working on.  Challenger is almost complete.  I'm still working on the OMS pods and the main engines and still need to add some Decals to finish it off.  I'm also not happy with the RCC color so I'm going to redo that as well. I was done with my ET's but decided to modify the tanks by removing  the rings and the extra pressure line.  The SRB's are almost done Just need to work on the lower segment where the insta foam would be.

I just added new photos of the new Atlantis stack. Discovery's tank is darker as it's older and I used Dark Yellow instead of Chrome yellow. You can sort of see the area where the PAL ramp was on Atlantis's tank.

I have all four orbiters in 1/72 scale, Monogram kits. I'm now planning a 1/72 scale ISS as it looks now  and attach Columbia to that. Columbia's the only orbiter I really haven't had a fixed idea on. This is what Columbia was like a few years ago in 2002, my model I mean http://www.ninfinger.org/~sven/models/html_pix/mdcolumbia.html That's the same SRB and ET Discovery now is attached to.

With Chris' permission, I wanted to let everyone know that I've just released two new model products which you may all be interested in.   Here's the release:

Launch Complex Models is proud to announce an exclusive agreement with Masterpiece Models to produce a new high-fidelity line of spacecraft products:

   * 1:48 scale Orion Crew Exploration Vehicles (CEV) kit, and
   * 1:48 scale Lunar Surface Access Modules (LSAM) kit.

   Based on the specifications as proposed in the Exploration Systems Architecture Study (ESAS) Report of 2005, please see: http://www.launchcomplexmodels.com/CEV.html for pictures of the finished models.

CEV:
   The 1:48 scale Orion CEV consists of two highly detailed modules: The Crew Module (CM) measuring approximately 4.5" diameter and 2.5" tall, and the Service Module (SM) 4.5" diameter and 5" long.

   Fine details are included such as hatch mould lines, RCS thrusters and LIDS docking adaptor suited to docking to the matching LSAM model.

   Two sets of solar arrays will be included: the standard 7.5" x 1.5" rectangular panels, and the distinctive round design more recently revealed.

LSAM:
   The LSAM also features two separating modules: The Descent Module (DS) standing 6" tall, with a footprint 8" across, and Ascent Module (AS) 4" tall, 5" across.

   Standing 10" tall when assembled (11" with all the antennas) this is again a very high fidelity model including mould lines, airlock, RCS thruster packs, windows, docking adaptor designed to mate to the CEV, ladder, and 'Mylar' covered tanks throughout.

Display Stand:
   An exclusive resin stand featuring a stylish sweeping vertical mount is included for free if buying both CEV and LSAM together.

   Total part count for both CEV and LSAM is 174 individual parts, and together will weigh about 10 lb.

Exclusive Holiday Season Offer:

   The first 100 orders received by December 31st, 2006, will qualify for the special prices of:
   * 1:48 CEV: $100 + shipping
   * 1:48 LSAM: $140 + shipping
   * 1:48 CEV, LSAM & Display Stand: $200 + shipping

   NOTE: This offer can not be combined with any other discount offers.

   For orders received after the New Year, regular prices will be:
   * 1:48 CEV: $120
   * 1:48 LSAM: $160 + shipping
   * 1:48 CEV, LSAM & Display Stand: $240 + shipping

   Deliveries will start in January 2007.

   To place your order, please visit our website:

Ross B Tierney.

Anyone have the dimensions of the RS-68?  Google hasn't been helpful this time.  I need the overall height and the nozzle diameter at the base.

Thanks for any help.

Excellent looking kit, Ross.  I'm glad it is a consistent scale with my Realspace CSM.

There's a dimensioned diagram in this PowerPoint presentation:
