Nice model - I particularly like the radiators and the payload deployment mechanism. If built, I think the rendezvous RADAR and the exterior lights would have been deleted, and possibly there would have been more gold foil round the ascent stage for shade - perhaps even eyelids on the windows. And no rendezvous window...

Completed the latest model with the brand amk-kits. As already said, the model is in 1/72 and reproduces the cargo automatic ATV ESA.

Those shuttles are amazing!!  1/72 is such a great scale, but takes up so much room!

My 1/48 Saturn-V barely stands up in my kitchen WITHOUT the Launch Escape Tower :)

I wish we had more 1/100th scale kits.  Tamiya's orbiter would look awesome with a stack.

Revell told me they discontinued the 1/72 kit,but they did say to me they  would consider bringing it back someday. They did before. :)  I also gave them a lot of ideas for new kits like their own Saturn V in 1/72 scale as well as perhaps the Ares 1 and V as well as the SLS.

Well I mentioned it to Revell given the many numbers of 1/144 Saturn V and shuttle kits many companies have. Why not up the scale to 1/72 scale?

That would be great. :)

I hope they bring the shuttle kit back as I was thinking of getting one last model of it to build as STS-1.  Well just like I did to Discovery I want to do with Columbia showing it's old and new markings side by side.

A Rocketdyne F-1 in paper, 1/48

Here's my rendition of an F-1 engine. I used an existing paper template for it but scratch built most of the details. It's all paper except for the smallest pipes that go from the neck to the turbo pump manifold. The car was completely scratch built. And of course also all out of paper. It was a nice and relatively quick build.

It is amazing what you do with paper!!  I have never felt comfortable building paper models.  It has always been plastic for me.  I wish I had the skill to do it.

With all my detailing and different types of paper it might look a little hard but it actually is quite easy. You have to start simple. Build a simple rocket. All cylinders and cones. There are a lot of easy but very pretty models to be found at Jon Leslie's site. You can download them and scale them as you wish to another size. The best thing is that there are so much more space related models to be found in paper than there are in plastic. And lots of them are free.

I have been working on a rough model of an Orion and ISS Derived Deep Space Habitat.  It looks good enough for me for now  based on the information that has been seen.  It is probably just another fantasy space craft at this point. This is the 500 day version.

During the show telford (UK), held during the first weekend of November, the LVM-STUDIOS has exposed the models it sells. Among them, more than all the other beautiful models, even the super detailed F1 for the SATURN 5 in 1/72 and the super detail for the Gemini capsule produced by Revell.

The photos posted here show booth set up with even the models of AMK KITS-and those of the LVM-STUDIOS for Russian missiles. A stand really rich!

Thanks for sharing your great pics from the LVM stand during IMPS Scale ModelWorld 2013, very interesting! Meanwhile LVM really has a lot of great model kits.

One year ago LVM announced their Detail kit No. 5 LC39S5 - Exterior for the RSS - Q1 2013 of the Space Shuttle Launch Tower, but that still does not exist.

Have you seen this kit No. 5 at the LVM stand or spoken with Leon van Munster?

Now Revell's spectacular announcement of the release of their Space Shuttle Launch Tower 4911 in 2014 in a limited edition could create a new stimulation for LVM, because it could might rise again the demand for LVM detail kits, so that they possible still put out their detail kit No. 5 now too.
