Phil, you might consider buying the kit and then paying someone to build it for you.  (but not me.  I am not quite that good.)

Another pic of my LEM in work, masked off to receive Alclad.  It's a complex job.

Oh, and guess what came in the mail this week!

I'll even excitedly look forward to "flags and footprints" and suborbital missions. Just fly...somewhere.

Where did you get it? Who makes the kit?

What is the scale of that Falcon 9 rocket?

SpaceX actually makes the kit - I found it on Amazon.com.  And it's in 1/88th scale.  Odd scale, but it looks good.  One of my new year's resolutions is to launch model rockets again.  I haven't done that in AGES (like, oh, 16 years).

I got my  Falcon 9  today and I'm also trying to get back into rocketry. 2011 was almost a rocket-less year ( I flew 2 on New Year's Eve).

You can try going to the Starship Modeler Forums or the Yahoo Space modelers Group.

I've finished up my 1/72 LEM ascent stage.  The descent stage finish is coming up.

Those are pretty sweet!

I am hoping to get my falcon 9 next week if they don't sell out again, then I am going to be getting a Saturn V from apogee rockets, it's a bigger one at over 5 feet tall and it does fly.

I'm done with my Dragon 1/72nd LEM, joined up with the Apollo CSM and Shuttle Atlantis in the same scale.  I'm working on the Shenzhou and am waiting for Dragon to release Mercury and Gemini model kits (not their prebuilt stuff) in that scale.  And I'd like to see if someone comes out with the Vostok/Voskhod and Soyuz TMA in plastic.

Hi all model builders,

I want to introduce you to my company LVM Studios. We design and manufacture detail and model kits with a real space subject.

Last year we released the first 3 kits of our LC39 detail set series for the Revell Shuttle Launch Tower. I included some photos to this post.

On February 20th we are going to release our 4th kit LC39S4 with details of the walkways from the FSS to the RSS, detail parts for the IAA, OAA and GOX and a lot of other features. In total more than 120 photo etch parts.

Have a look on our website www.lvm-studios.com or http://store.lvm-studios.com for more information.

In 2012 we will also release LC39S5 (detail set for the RSS), LUT LC-14 to complement the Revell "Everything is GO" kit and a brand new model kit of the R-7 launchpad (Sputnik, Vostok and Soyuz) in 1/144 scale.

Regards,

Leon van Munster

Today I finished my Shenzhou model.  The first kit I've built by Trumpeter.  Installing 32 tiny thrusters on the craft was pretty tedious, and I lost one but found a replacement that looks the part.

Here are a couple of shots of advanced construction.
