The Monogram kits of the shuttle are my preference. BenB5150 what shuttle orbiter are you making with your shuttle kits?
You probably will eventually have the entire fleet given time. That's what I did. Save up, and gradually get a model. My fleet took a few years to get completed, meaning it took that long to get all of the orbiters, one by one.
What scale is this Saturn V model? http://www.honeysucklecreek.net/images/hskwallymod1.jpg
Well, there are some that are close:Plastruct.com has round plastic tubeing27.6 feet diameter @1:72 is 4.6 inches, they have TB-450 which is 4.5 inches in 18 inch (TB-450) and 36 inch lengths (TB-450L). http://plastruct.com/Pages/OnlineProductDetail.lasso@1:144 =2.3 and they have TB-225 and TB-225L (18 and 36 inch long), 2.25 inches. http://plastruct.com/Pages/OnlineProductDetail.lassoIf you use a wrap to simulate the foam, you will probably be close enough. You would have to do the thrust structure yourself as well as the nose.If you want to try your hand at paper, you can get paper Models of Direct's Jupiter here: http://www.nielspapermodels.com/direct.htm and then mosdify it for Ajax...
