Say guys any idea where I can get the 1/72 scale Aoshima HTV?

starshipmodeler.biz has them.  I've spent lots of my money there, fastest shipping and best service I've ever seen.

I currently have two kits in production in the workshop.  The first is an 1/144 Airfix Saturn 5  model.  I have built one of these in the past converted to fly as a model rocket but this one is being done for display only.  I purchased some resin enhancements from Martin Goldsack in the UK and they make a big difference in accuracy which is still low due to the relatively small size of the model.  I am planning on displaying it on a wood stand with the stages broken out and laying horizontally.

I also have a Revell LM in work.  I purchased Tomas Kladiva's NewWare resin/photoetch enhancements and they make a big difference in the accuracy of the model.  I am currently about 30% along in the build and gluing Rolo candy gold foil all over the landing stage.  Many of the enhancement parts in resin and brass are extremely small and require extreme dexterity and patience in attaching them to the model.  I found an excellent how to guide on the web for building the model and look forward to completing it.

I hope to take both to Wonderfest next month to enter in the contest along with my other builds from the past year.  Here's a couple of pics of the Saturn at the moment.

This vid someone made could be very helpful in making a more detailed model of Ares 1.

Just a question.

If someone were to build a model of the N-1 would this thread be an appropriate place to post progress reports and photos? Just wondering, acknowledging the title of this thread.

Really Chuck any kind of space model is welcome.  Go right ahead!

And that Mars spacecraft computer model by I10R14 is a good job.  Thanks for sharing.

My 6 pack is still in progress, the Challenger is being worked on now.  I'm in the phase where I'm putting white primer on all the orbiters, one by one, and sanding/filling the flaws out till I'm ready to put on my final white coats.  Discovery, Atlantis, then Endeavour are next.

Once they have their final white coats then painting and decaling will begin, but that's a way off yet.  Not to mention finishing up and painting the OMS/SSME engines and landing gear assemblies/doors.  It'll be 2 - 4 months before I'm finished.

Oh, I've also started initial work on a 1/24 Revell Vostok and a 1/200 STS-1 stack.

I'll even excitedly look forward to "flags and footprints" and suborbital missions. Just fly...somewhere.

Will there be a rocket to go with the Vostok model? :)

I have been working fairly hard on both the Airfix Saturn and LM models I am building for Wonderfest.  Here are a couple of pictures at this point in time.  The Saturn does have the initial coat of white on the S1C stage and the upper stages are getting the internal painting done prior to assembly.  The LM is further along and you can see some of the additional detail added from the NewWare resin/photoetch enhancement kit.  I've seen these done and they are extremely nice when completed.  But believe me there are many very small parts and you need some patience to do all this detailing.

Unfortunately no.  The Vostok itself is going to demand all my patience and I won't get it finished before my "six pack".

You should get the Mach 2 1/72 scale Semyorka rocket kit and modify it tinto a Vostok booster. :) I'm doing that, but my kit is being turned into the present Soyuz TMA.

hey guys what is your view of the release of the 1/72 shuttle stack kit by next month? From what I hear it will be rand new. I hope it will resemble the original kit, but tweaked a bit to look more like the present design. I had fun with my  two kits of the stack modifying them to the current design. :) I hope to get one more.

for the 1/72 shuttle stack, probably just new decals.

My guess is that it's the old Monogram full stack fom the 1980s reissued once more.

I heard about that from a former member of my IPMS SLC club.  I've been trawling the net trying to find out more about it.  If it truly were a well-engineered new mold kit I would be super excited.  But even if it's the old Monogram kit reissued I'd still likely get another one.

Edited to add: I have checked several online hobby shops (like Squadron) and they are offering the 1/72 shuttle stack as a preorder - looks like the reissued Monogram kit.

Either way Bubbinski, this kit is worth getting. :)

One of my old shuttle stack kits will be taken apart and modified into becoming a 1/72 scale Ares V. I'll keep the ET as a stand alone piece. The orbiter Discovery of that kit will be going to the new model, and orbiter of the new model will become an on orbit version or something similar to the proposed way Atlantis will be displayed at KSC.
