Re: 1/72 shuttle decals - RealSpace Models prints out a set. They're very good.
Thanks, guys -- that is very kind! However, I noted in one or two shots that the nose cap looks a bit "irregular". I remember having a bit of a trouble with the masking tape there. Interestingly, there is no decal for the nose cap rim. The 1:144 Revell shuttle has one.Whatever: I took some corrective action yesterday. Here's the result. Is there some improvement visible?
I'm contemplating building a card model of Orion but I need to figure something out before I launch (no pun intended) into the project The questions concern the Service Module. And yeah, I know that despite the hardware that's been built, there is much that is still largely conjectural and the thing may never fly. That said, here goes....Virtually all of the artist renderings I've seen show the SM as a gray color. Yet I'm trying to think of what gray spacecraft there are; None come to mind. The closest thing to the Orion SM, the Apollo SM, was metallic with white radiator panels. Then again, when we're talking about modern vehicles that are somewhat similar, the exterior of ESA's ATV is covered with insulation blankets. So what would an educated guess be for what Orion's SM might actually look like? Thanks.
I'm contemplating building a card model of Orion...

My Mach 2 1/72 scale Semyorka rocket kit. I plan to modify this kit from the original Luna kit to the Soyuz TMA. Two pieces next to the Monogram shuttle kits to show scale. And a drawing I did as a guide. Any suggestions fellas on scratch building the fairing? That area is the only difficulty with this new project. Also Any suggestions on scratch building new engine nozzles for teh escape tower and third stage of the Soyuz? The Luna upper stage has only one engine, the Soyuz has four large engine like the core first stage and four smaller thrusters around them. I also plan to make the launch complex of the Soyuz as well.
