On behalf of participants of the Russian space forum at Novosti Kosmonavtiki ( http://www.novosti-kosmonavtiki.ru/phpBB2/ ) we would like to congratulate our friends at NSF with the 40th anniversary of the first piloted lunar landing and moonwalk.
We hope that people from the Earth will return there and go farther for the benefit of mankind.

That is a very nice gesture, Liss!

I remember reading about the respect Korolev and Von Braun had for each other, so it makes sense the followers of both programs should feel the same way.

Amen on that!  I read Korolev's biography.  It is amazing what he went through and still maintained a vision for peaceful space exploration.

I worked on Saturn/Apollo and I have a lot of respect for the Soviet program that we were competing against.

Ex-Apollo, waiting for NASA to finish what we started.

I also have a lot of respect and admiration for the Soviet/Russian space program.  Would have been a thrill to see Buran become operational, along with the Energia launch vehicle.  The current Russian efforts still amazes me, with the same booster they started using with Sputnik continues to launch the Soyuz to the ISS today.  Also, never forget that had the Russians not brought the US and world to reality via their early space successes, the Moon Landings, happening as soon as it did, would not have been possible.  So, my hat is off to both the Soviet/Russian space program as well as NASA and the rest of the world.....
