I suppose it was inevitable, but did anyone else notice how we seemed to go from shuttle readiness to workforce draw downs? A bit depressing.

Great coverage here! And very cool to have our own reporter (Chris G) asking questions in person!
[Aside: notice the "our" instead of "your" in my sentence... there really is a sense of community here at NSF. Very different from old media and their separation/independence from their audience. Thanks NSF! ]

Given the 2pm launch time (or thereabouts considering scrubs), can someone give me a sense of what time of the day (Eastern) the EVA's will be happening?
I guess a corollary question: how far into the crew day are they when they reach liftoff? I'm guessing a little past the middle of their 16 hour day. Which tells me that the EVAs will be in the middle of the day.
And now that I've checked the timeline posted by Bill Harwood, I see that the typical egress-ingress times will be 8am-2pm every day (ET).
Awesome, just planning my schedule

Not the most exciting - but snippets of comms from the safety crews prepping for tonight's fueling operations...

Here is an activity calender in EDT for a May 11, 2pm launch. It isn't completely up-to-date (I believe the post-release inspections have moved) but it is close. This is HST-centric so it includes post-EVA testing of systems (AT/FT).

Any idea how the patch turned out?
On the radiator? Good!
I think Chris forgot to copy the update across, probably very busy with the extension article, but one of the engineers took pictures of it being repaired on Saturday night in L2, and they were just waiting for heat lamps to seal the area. Looks like that's completed on the latest Sunday processing note.
The Monday morning report will say for sure...the ones Chris writes processing articles from.

I'll start a weather thread this afternoon after getting a good wrap on the new data, but all signs (especially this time of the year!) are looking positive for launch day. We're in a very warm but very dry pattern for this weekend into next week over the southeast... There should be minimal moisture in place with a high pressure area overhead, so sea breezes will be something to watch but don't have a lot of hope that they'll do more than increasing cloudiness a bit with maybe a few sprinkles.

Still in a drought down there, I believe. "Red flag warning" time of the year...

Ok... yeah. Drought. I'll give you that (though people tend to take that over the top down here some times). But yes, technically a drought. No "RED FLAG" warning or anything like that though.
