I missed the landing (celebrating my Mom's 80th birthday), but thanks to the amazing coverage yesterday, I feel like I was there.  Thanks everyone!

So can someone help me out here.  Ames gap filler vs. "ordinary" gap filler?  Ames as in NASA Ames?

Yep - http://www.scribd.com/doc/350078/NASA-153089main-fs-sts1-contrib

Here is the STS-119 Landing HD video file - made up of only the HD engineering replays (no SD engineering replays included) and the camera title slates cut out to try to keep down filesize.

Files are deleted 90 days after they are last downloaded and HJSplit was used to split the main file into smaller chunks.

I think it runs about 10-11 minutes in length and is about 500mb or so in size.

How do you play these?  I d/l both.

You need to download a nifty utility called HJSplit to recombine the files onto one playable file.

Get it here: http://www.freebyte.com/hjsplit/

Anyone notice the resemblance between Tony Antonelli and the actor Adam Baldwin, who played astronaut Jack Riles in the TV show "The Cape"?    He even sounds a bit like him.

Thanks for the link.  Still not seeing anything about an "Ames" gap filler, though...

I guess the only item remaining to close off 119 is the usual high quality tribute from MAX-Q.... :)  - any ideas when that may appear?

Soon and I can tell you it's going to be amazing! Awesome song, and it's going to be a monster video (well over 10 minutes).

Teaser on the video section:

I've almost finished the post flight report, I'll post it here, but because she's back in the OPF, we'll move to STS-128's processing flow thread too.

Thanks for the link.  Still not seeing anything about an "Ames" gap filler, though...

From that link:

"Hot gas flow between the tiles during atmospheric entry was considered a serious problem during orbiter development. In response, Ames developed a gap filler, which consists of a ceramic cloth im-pregnated with a silicone polymer that was adopted as a solution to the gap heating for Columbia. The Ames gap filler was so successful that it was adopted as a permanent solution to the gap flow problems on all the orbiters. More than 10,000 are now used on each vehicle."

I appreciate all of the files you have shared with us, but "filefactory" has to be the most obnoxious thing I've run into in a long time :/

The crew returned to Houston on Sunday. Before mingling with the crowd at Ellington Field, they remarked about their mission and thanked those who made their flight a success. Here are their comments:

Thanks very much, Robert, for passing these along!

Nice videos Robert...and that really does close out the mission. Will leave the thread open, but will kick off the STS-128 processing thread here: http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=16452.0
