Should probably go in the weather thread, but.. weather update:  STA is airborne.  Assessing cloud development, hasn't shown up yet, but is a concern.  Winds are picking up, had momentary headwind violations.

Thanks.  Always try to listen for that to get a sense where data dropouts might be during entry/approach...

1 hour and 10 minutes away from the first De-Orbit Burn opportunity, and 2 hours 15 minutes from touchdown if we go on the first opportunity.

Live coverage of STS-119 FD14:

Landing Day article: http://www.nasaspaceflight.com/2009/03/sts-119-live-discovery-for-florida-return/

Please note, this is interactive, but all posts need to be on topic. If you post images, no more than two per post. NON UPDATE POSTS WILL BE DELETED

================

L2 Member Resources (Selected - full list would convolute this post - on top of the 2,800mb L2 STS-119 Special Section):

Several Full Re-entry (115 mins) from Deorbit preps to post landing videos (including handheld camcorder on the flight deck - such as 115, where Heide was doing the filming).
(Free Trailer for 115: http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=4813.0
(Free Trailer for Endeavour: http://forum.nasaspaceflight.com/index.php?topic=8873.0)

STA HUD Videos (all runways) from 80,000 ft, and KSC STA HAC and Landings.

Checklists and Handbooks - Gen and STS-119 from Deorbit onwards (not the NASA.gov FDF checklists - STS-126's update alone was over 200mb of pdfs). L2 members are welcome to snip/copy and paste interesting checklist items into this live thread.

Safe landings Discovery!

I know this is not an update, so I apologize, but that photo at the top is amazing. Is there a higher res? I'm on L2 if it's there.

Bru says they are done with everything on the de-orbit prep timeline except the Flight Deck and Middeck speaker config.  Switching to the Entry checklist.

Remember, these checklists are on L2, if you are a checklist fan.
