I tell you guys, this is one of my happy days, seeing the UPA working and processing. I'm celebrating with a home brew beer, which btw looks surprisingly like...  :)

Just to advise those who may not know (forgot to post this earlier from my write-down notes)..

The latest DA sample run will take 3 hours...so this will be a long night if you're waiting up!

I myself have to go, so thanks for the image fill-ins Ford and stockman.

Mark this day (knock on wood, as testing progresses) that we have embarked on the journey to long-duration missions in space. This is a milestone in human spaceflight, hence my celebration! Thanks all, and goodnight!

WRS pressures down to 20%, wanting Mike to fill to 75% if he can.

Mike:  Ready, willing, and able!

Up to 50% so far, still filling.

EDIT:  Filled to 56%, but can go to the service module to get another tank.  MCC-H checking about that.

MCC-H says no-go to the service module, they have enough to finish what they need for tonight.

"We want to thank you for putting in your time and hard work with this, Mike.  We know you have a busy day, and we want to wish you a personal good night."

Mike signing off before heading to sleep.. caught the tail end of it.

MCC-H:  Thank you for all your hard work today, Mike.  We appreciate it.

Mike:  Oh, it wasn't just me.  You guys made the hardware, Sandy was installing it today, and we all made the urine.

MCC-H:  Haha, that's true.  Thank all of you guys for your hard work.  Good night.

Assuming that they don't have the DA video/audio in the highlights, could someone Youtube it?  I'd love to hearing the spin-up sounds you guys have been talking about :)  I'm just barely too late to hear it live.

ChrisC, I'd expect them to put it in the highlights.  If not, I'll see if I can get something.

EDIT:  Boy, was I wrong!  I'll see if I can get something with the WRS DA spinning up.  I might not be able to acquire it, though.

Thanks!

I was also disappointed a few days ago when the highlights didn't include Swanny shoving the BGA out.  However in that case I think it was a night pass and there wasn't much to see anyway.  I'll never know!

Listening to the wakeup music in the FD highlights, it's real close to sounding like old, original Chicago (brass, vocals, and harmonies).

That was the leadoff track from the first album I ever owned.  My parents gave it to me, packaged with the Christmas stereo (tuner/turntable/8track combo unit).  I hated that album ("Hot Streets", ugh); I think that was the first one with Donnie Dacus, and he didn't last long.  You should see The Hair on those guys then.  The first album I bought was Foreigner :)

I noticed Alan Poindexter as a CAPCOM for this mission.   Isn't it unusual for an astronaut to be CAPCOM for two consecutive missions?   Also, love the fact that the CDR's nickname is "Bru".

Short for Bomb Rack Unit he has indicated in the past, but wouldn't tell the story behind it.

I've read somewhere on a military forum that there's a chance you get that nickname (callsign) if you accidentally drop the BRU by jettisoning it instead of releasing the bombs at the target. To clarify, the BRU should stay on the wing ;)
Hoping for a future of NASA manned spaceflight
