Yep, looks like a slow Sunday for this mission. Will leave this as a set thread for now, but likely merge it later.

Next article on site will be Ares I-X/STS-125/STS-400 - might be two parter over today and tomorrow, depending on how the draft works out.

Wow, live look in the NBL for work ongoing on evaluating work requirements for EVA-3.

Rex Walhelm and Dan Burbank (hope I caught their names correctly) will be carrying out the mock EVA without EMUs later.

Just as some background info: Rex Walheim was EV2 on ST-110 in 2002, he performed two EVAs back then and last year flew as EV1 on STS-122, performing three spacewalks. Dan Burbank was the IV for one EVA on STS-106 in 2000 and was EV3 on STS-115 in 2006, performing one EVA.

Very Nice!

The SARJ should rotate the solar arrays at 4 degrees a minute when in normal tracking mode (360 degrees in one orbit of ~90 min), so for your animation they rotate about 60 degrees.

Ok, now I'm confused by this aggressive set of tools, as well as by the MSB yesterday (ie talk of cutting the pin handle). It would seem that they could more simply reverse the UPPAS deploy procedure, backing out to the point where the pin was put in "upside down" (I think was at most 45 mins), verses the greater effort/time involved in hitting/prying/cutting (assuming it takes all that). Perhaps the procedure had some irreversible step...?

Wow...you weren't kidding! My favourite term is brute force and ignornace...hahaha

The only item missing on that list is crazy glue (or something else to put the pieces back together)  :)
