Anyone have the ground tracks yet for her final approach?

They usually come out 24-48 hours before landing, so I wouldn't expect them until at least after undocking and late inspections tomorrow.

Another beautiful pass over southern England! I think there's a further opportunity on the next orbit (after the undocking) but it looks quite poor - very short and a low elevation.

I am looking forward to a sighting tonight in Vancouver, Canada at about 8pm local time (~7 hrs after undocking?).

Can anyone tell me, how far apart the station and shuttle will be, and whether the shuttle or the station will be in front?

Thanks!

Just got a view of ISS and Discovery flying (low ~ 11 degrees above horizon)  over Long Island N.Y. at 8:10 local time.
Looked like the ISS was trailing Discovery as 2nd vehicle was a bit brighter.

Just saw them go overhead, Discovery in front by about 3 thumb widths at arm's length, or about 6-7 seconds. Very impressive! I don't think I've seen them this close before.  Bonus sighting on the next orbit too, woohoo!

How far apart will Discovery be from the ISS tonight?

There's a pass over the south of the UK tonight and I was wondering if I'll see both!

Lee

Click on the link to get the ISS passover time, then click on the link to get the shuttle passover time, and it'll tell you different times for each.

Just saw them both over the south of England. Wasn't expecting to see both of them at the same time like that. Very nice.

I just saw them both too, didn't think they'd appear as close together as they were, but it was so amazingly awesome, both were so bright!

According to Heavens-Above it was 506km away at its closest - probably the closest I'll get to a Space Shuttle - but WOW!  ;D ;D

London , UK
An excellent sight tonight, first the Soyuz at 7.35 (GMT) showing marked variations of brightness (must be the solar panels catching the sunlight slowly off and on, then Discovery followed by the ISS just 20-30 degrees behind , truly a great sight.  It will be a while before we see 13 astronauts/cosmonauts flying by in the space of less than an hour

I finally got to see the shutte leave the ISS. Totally awesome. I had to end a conversation with a beautiful brunette receptionist at the gym so I could go outside and not miss it.

I still need to see the two dots approaching, but I'm thrilled tonight to have seen the departure.

That deserves a scotch.

Think you missed a great opportunity to impress the brunette if you would of showed her the iss and orbiter going overhead!

She doesn't know what she's missing, on two fronts...hehe.

These 2 pics were taken the other evening, when Discovery was about 20 mins from undocking,
I took them from an open loft window in what can only be described as "gale force winds"
The first one shows the complex passing in front (ish) of a star,
the 2nd as the complex heads into Gemini,

Less than 20 minutes ago I've seen a fantastic pass of Discovery on her final orbit of this mission, followed by the ISS about 4 minutes later. Awesome sight!
