Any more news about the potential avoidance manoeuvre for the piece of junk from Cosmos 1275 reported late yesterday?
Quote from: rosbif73 on 03/16/2009 03:12 pmAny more news about the potential avoidance manoeuvre for the piece of junk from Cosmos 1275 reported late yesterday?According to NASA TV commentary sometime before 6 am EDT and awaiting further analysis and confirmation the Cosmos debris is believed to miss ISS at a safe distance; that would mean no change to ISS and Shuttle flight paths.

nose came out funny due to lighting

Are we talking about this?

I can't easily make out what RCC panel that is on.

Here's the slide to help from the presentation on L2. Note the triggers were very light, so really want us all to avoid making a big deal out of these survey images.

Live coverage of FD2:Previous article: http://www.nasaspaceflight.com/2009/03/sts-119-live-second-attempt-tsm-t0/ (Launch)FD2 Specific article: http://www.nasaspaceflight.com/2009/03/sts-119-opening-tps-inspections-several-issues-worked/
in the FD 2 Highlights, at 17:55, during the OMS burn, they noted (and you can see) the tail leading edges glowing read. Is that because they are still low enough to encounter atmospheric heating effects? I would have thought they were too high for that.
Earining a new warfare insignia is a big milestone for any Naval officer's career,
Quote from: NavySpaceFan on 03/17/2009 12:03 pm Earining a new warfare insignia is a big milestone for any Naval officer's career, For me, It was just another PITA insignia that you had to deal with for official photos and dress uniforms. I liked the option where only rank and name were required on non dress uniforms. Then again, there were times I didn't wear any uniform at all. The space field was unique.Different services, different career fields, different traditions, etc
