Waiting on specifics related to a LH2 leak that's being worked on via the Booster console.

Apparently LH2 tanking has stopped while possible umbilical leak is being troubleshooted, but LO2 tanking is continuing.

The leak downstream of the skid, somewhere around the GUCP.

Does that mean we might still go for tonight's window?  As I understand it, there is about 24 hours between launch windows....

As I understand it, it could be longer then 24 hours.

Has this tank had any prior cryo-cycles on it other than this?  If so would that be a factor?

Offline Chris Bergin

The launch is not going to happen tonight. The question is if the delay is *more than* 24 hours.

NASA just tweeted the following:

At 2:37 p.m. EDT today's launch attempt was scrubbed. Try again in 24 hours. The cause is a hydrogen leak at an attach point to the orbiter.

Does this description fit the information you have or is their 24 hour slip too optimistic?

We are now officially in a 24 hour turn-around with the launch targeted for Thursday at 8:54:27 p.m. EDT (0054 GMT).

The scrub was called at 2:37 p.m. EDT.

It seems that everything that can happen to delay launch has happened.
