Big variety of wake up songs for STS-126, so what would you ask for, or get your family to choose for you on your flight day wake up song?
Mine:
All around the world - Oasis.

Magic Carpet Ride, Steppenwolf, would work just fine.

I'm totally non-original: Faith of the Heart, the Russell Watson version.

Here are a few of my ideas:
-A bosun pipe piping and the word "reveille, reveille, all hands heave out!"
-James Bond theme.
-Christopher Franke's Babylon 5 theme (fourth season).

'Hoppípolla' by Sigur Rós, or 'Beautiful Day' by U2
It'd be hard one to decide between these two, as Hoppipolla is a 'big' song, which seems suited to a situation involving the whole planet, whereas U2's tune describes orbit completely...

I would choose "Hey Sandy" by Polaris. It was the theme song to the 90s American TV show "The Adventures of Pete and Pete." It would make a good wakeup song for Sandra Magnus as well.

For STS-126:
"Hang on to Yourself" from the David Bowie album
"The rise and fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars"

(It contains the line "..you're the blessed, we're the Spiders from Mars")
Elmo and Spiderman deserve a dedication now they're official crew members.

Hmmm....good question:
Spirit in the Sky - Norman Greenbaum
Castles in the Sky - Ian Van Dahl
Can't think of any others that fit the "really high up/epic" genre.
