High Altitude Merlin 1C
« on: 08/04/2008 07:40 pm »
Did anyone else catch that brief moment during the Falcon 1-3 prelaunch video of the Elon Musk factory walk down when he showed the thrust chamber of a high-altitude Merlin 1C next to a set of low altitude Merlin 1C thrust chambers?  It appeared to have a longer regeneratively cooled divergent section than the standard chambers.  That was the first time I've seen an image of what must be part of the Falcon 9 second stage engine.

Did anyone happen to record that part of the video?

Saw that too Ed. They promised that the full video of the tour would be made available on the SpaceX site. Nothing yet, however.
