From T-15 seconds to webcast end.

Thread and post above was within minutes of the event.

Chris edit:

Anniversary, so youtubing, but proof we recorded live are in this thread and credit to Steven and all for doing that during the event.

And here's the abort engine start at T+10 seconds or so (without audio, sorry about that).

Short question because I didn't see the launch live: In the other thread there're people claiming that the video, the clock on the upper right corner and the audio were out of sync by several seconds in the webcast. Since in the file above everything is in sync obviously, is this an edited file or are these claims just wrong?

Cheers

The first file (the launch and failure) was synced by myself.  This, however, was the way it was broadcast, I did not sync them to make it appear as it was in sync, only how it was broadcast.

They were complaining about the first scrub, the T-0 abort.  The first stage fired at T+10 seconds, which was programmed by the computers, I believe.

To answer your question, the claims were wrong.  The file is as it appeared on the webcast.

I believe the two hosts of the pre-launch show said it would appear on www.spacex.com after the launch.  Not sure now that it's failed, but it should still appear within the week.

Here's audio of the abort...not going to bother syncing it with video as nothing seemed to be synced correctly at the time (although apparently it was), and the audio clip is longer.

Did the second stage ignite or did it just fell back to earth?

There was something that held the first and second stage together, as explained in Elon Musk's statement:

"Unfortunately, a problem occurred with stage separation, causing the stages to be held together.  This is under investigation and I will send out a note as soon as we understand exactly what happened." - Elon Musk

There is more to this e-mail, talking about other things, but that bit explained Hoonte's question.

The full launch video, including the parts that were not in the webcast, is now streamable from spacex website. Any chance of a downloadable version here?
