The assembly of stages of Proton-M rocket has begun on previous week.
The launch of Proton-M rocket with Briz-M upper stage and Nimiq 4 satellite from Baikonur cosmodrome is planned in the middle of September. -

Nimiq 4 satellite was installed onto adapter on Briz-M upper stage on September 6-7. The fairing was rolled onto the ascent unit today.

Satellite Use:
Nimiq 4 has two payloads for Canadian broadcast services. The main payload will provide specialty television and foreign language programming. The second payload has six beams covering Canada for such advanced services as high-definition television. Nimiq satellites are dedicated to the provision of direct-to-home services for Bell TV.

Mission Profile:
The Proton M launch vehicle, utilizing a 5-burn Breeze M mission design, will lift off from Pad 39 at Baikonur Cosmodrome, Kazakhstan, with the Nimiq 4 satellite on board. The first three stages of the Proton will use a standard ascent trajectory to place the Breeze M fourth stage and the Nimiq 4 satellite into a suborbital trajectory from which the Breeze M will then place itself and the spacecraft into a low Earth circular parking orbit. Once Nimiq 4 is in the parking orbit, it will be injected into a geosynchronous transfer orbit following four additional burns of the Breeze M.

Apogee: 35,786 km (22,236 miles)
Perigee: 4,400 km (2,734 miles)
Inclination: 12.5 degrees
Spacecraft Separation:
Approximately 9 hours, 11 minutes after liftoff

Will be launch of Nimiq 4 delayed because of problems with Briz-KM ?
Why? So called "Briz-KM problem" in GOCE case were glitches in ukrainian PCB in the guidance block. Should be cured with replacement on the copy. It can raise quality control issue in Kharkov, but can't delay other missions for Breez. -

The final work with the ascent unit was performed today. Tomorrow the ascent unit will be transported for the assembly with Proton-M rocket.

The assembly of ascent unit with Proton-M rocket is finished. The rocket is transported for the fuelling of low pressure tanks of Briz-M upper stage by propellants. The rollout of rocket to the launch pad 200/39 is planned on September 15th. -

Andrey, I've noticed on the Russian Launch Plan thread that the date of this mission is September 18 (TBD). Why is TBD now? Was there any problem with the preparations for launch?

Was there any problem with the preparations for launch?
I have heard there is failure in control system of Proton-M rocket. Some equipments need to be replaced. I do not know for now if it will affect launch date. -

"The launch of Proton M launch vehicle with Canada’s Nimiq 4 communications spacecraft on board has been delayed. A component malfunction was detected in the LV control system during on–pad tests. The faulty component will be duly replaced by a spare.
The launch has been moved to the scheduled contingency day, September 20, and is planned at 01:48 Moscow summer time [at 21:48:00 UTC on September 19 - anik]"
