Great coverage NSF team.  Does anyone have a sense of what things the crew is doing during this period before the various trucks roll up to the side of the shuttle. There isn't much information from the PAO.

Middeck guys basically wait.  Flight deck crew goes through the post landing safing procedures - positioning hydraulic systems, shutting down APUs, etc.  APU high shutdown in work.

How long do the APU's vent?

Until they turn them off..they are still running. Needed for hydraulic pressure for MPS engine repositioning and ET door opening.

Just a nit: ET doors are electric, not hydraulic...

A portion of what they do at this stage is aimed at assisting the turnaround in the OPF too isn't it? Doing things now that would require another powerup of the vehicle later on?

NavySpaceFan referenced that Commander Kelly "hit the three wire".  Is that an aircraft carrier landing term?  Is that good?
