No signs of metal shavings or anything like the other side.. A lot cleaner, but..

MCC-H requesting the remaining time to be used for getting photos to the ground.

No metal shavings, just what appears to be drag mechanisms.

Doesn't appear to be the kind of failure mechanism found in S3-S4.

I guess they'll keep a closer eye on the port side now...

We'll probably need a new thread to discuss all this...
Never any sign of wear last time they checked this one, until now.

one quick question: isn't it possible to do more frequent controlls of both SARJs by station crew EVAs?

If you mean inspections, yes it is possible and it probably become more commonplace with future EVA tasks if there is a concern about P3/P4 SARJ wear.

This line is speculated to be white grease:

Big relief it's looking like grease!

Some engineers are starting to let go of the defibrillators they were charging up... Fossum saying it definitely appears to be a line of white grease.

The 'deposit' seen on the P3/P4 appears to be white grease with 'streaks' in it, now it is time to close up the cover on the port SARJ and start to wrap up this EVA.

The complex is passing over central Wisconsin, 4 minutes to East handover, 16 minutes to sunset.

Now passing over Northern Quebec, 1 minute to East handover (this means KU is only through TDRS East), 13 minutes to sunset, PET 6:13

Discovery is on orbit 80 of STS-124, passing north of Newfoundland, Canada, and out over the North Atlantic, 10 minutes to sunset, 30 minutes to the ZOE.
