And are they trying to fix/figure out the left OMS issues?

Oooh, a Q&A session. ;)

The string that's failed does not affect deorbit, as they still have one good string - it's a loss of redundancy. So they have dual OMS ability for deorbit and will use the right for the on orbit burns. Fix will be during her flow in the OPF, providing it stays that way.

Ok, so basically they will not try to figure out if its just instrumentation or something else until they're back on the ground?
And they'll only use the (no longer redundant) left OMS when it's needed i.e. during the deorbit burn.

Do I understand correctly?

Yep. Though I'm sure they will be working root cause already, but it's not a mission impact, thus no troubleshoot is required. Not heard of any prop margin issues with only using the left (with the right) for the purpose of deorbit.

AFAIK you can cross-feed propellant/oxydiezer between the two OMS-pods.

Yes! There are crossfeed-lines. (Which already were used during the single engine NC burns)

Hey all, first post here though I have been enjoying following STS missions on this site for a while now. You guys do great work!

Had a question concerning the SARJ inspections yesterday. There were many comments stating that the depression noted was a pretty serious issue (as opposed to the "pancaking") and I was just wondering why that was. Does it seriously impact the possibility of repairing the problem?

Welcome to the site's forum, was explained on that FD4 thread. Keep reading that page with the comments surrounding the depression. Basically, it's going to take six EVAs over three missions to fix at this rate.

Just one quick question Chris... Isn't it possible to use EVA's by the station crew?

Thanks for the heads-up Chris. Went back and re-read what I'd missed.

On another note, can't wait for them to open the hatch to Kibo! The extra real-estate in there will be impressive. The shots from the payload bay looking towards Harmony really put into perspective how huge that module is, especially compared to the European lab.

Ok guys, let's keep the chatter down and keep it on coverage. I can see this fast turning into 50 posts about hair.
New users, remember we have a Q&A section. Thanks.

On NASA TV, I'm assuming that Kibo is on the left wrt to the camera. I wish they'd relocate the camera to the Columbus vestibule for head on shots.

UPDATE: Looks like they've moved the camera - I'm on DVR so I'm 30 minutes behind.
