PAO never mentioned it, but don't they swing the stack around shortly after docking such that Discovery's TPS is out of the "wind" (direction of travel)?

Yes, after they complete the docking sequence cue card and block 22A of the RNDZ book.

How smooth was that!?

Yeah...that was as smooth as it gets.

But, I it is jarring to see the amount of shaking that effects the camera right after contact.

Some experiments must reeeeaaalllyy like that! (Sarcasm)  ;)

That helps. Steering 'the vessel' backwards explains why "aft" (vs. forward, plus starboard vs. port) always seems to be in the 'wrong' direction when they discuss locations on the station structure (during the in-depth NASA TV coverage for shuttle missions). Thanks, Jorge!

Let's stay with the talk of today's mission, there's an Orion thread for discussion if you wish.  Thanks.  :)

Now that's just cool: seeing the ISS ingress preps from the shuttle side.

maybe they'll bring a live camera through the ODS and give us that "you are there" feeling :)

What time (aproxx) can we expect hi-res R-BAR photos?

Will they be here in this thread or on L2 (L2 Member)?
Regards,
Lee
