I can't see the 'plume', just some bits of ice bouncing and racing around every now and again, is it my resolution, or is it not visible at all? Never seen a dump before... interesting to see the shuttle flying sideways :)

I was expecting to see a lot more ice flying everywhere.  I've seen (courtesy of onboard cameras) some sort of fluid dump in past missions and it was a lot messier.

Probably has to do with that way the body has of keeping to itself some processes during the first days of a trip... ::)

Anyway, back on topic, with the toilet and this no-one is paying attention to Kibo!  ;D

'Longhorn' is the symbol/mascot for the University of Texas (named after the cattle).  Texas A&M and UT are rivals in sports.

Thank you, you've just put this limey out of his misery!!

Well, the contrast isn't 'right' for it.  It's not in the best position to watch it.  Last mission, I believe, the ISS took some video of a Waste Water Dump (near the FRCS valves), and you could clearly see that.  And no, it wasn't your resolution, just the lighting wasn't too good for it.

Anytime the launch pad takes excessive damage, there's more junk flying around than expected, and the possibility of some of it reaching the vehicle at liftoff is there. How does the bottom of the ET look in the photos? I'll be watching the Orbiter back end during RPM more closely than usual tomorrow.

One question, what did Mark say to Mike in japanese? What did Allerd say in Japanese during launch?

Where, on that image, would they appear?  The image I posted was the under-side of the port wing..

No, look again at the leading edge curvature and the airfoil profile. The scuffs are on upper surface of RCC panel 19L. I don't remember those being there at OPF rollout, could be anything from bug splat to bird poop.

I just realized that there is going to be one each of all the vehicles that have visited the ISS there at the same time once Discovery docks. Quite a milestone.

One question, what did Mark say to Mike in japanese? What did Allerd say in Japanese during launch?

I didn't hear what Mark said to Mike (Leinbach, I'm assuming) but Allard said, "Ganbatte kudasai" which translates (roughly) to "Please do your best!"

As I remember from anime,  "Ganbatte kudasai!" means "Keep up, pls!" :)

"Ganbatte kudasai!" does, in fact, mean "Do your best!".
