Wonderful human-interest question from the guy from The Guardian, and I seriously laughed at Mike's first sentence in his answer. And then he followed up with a great speech.

And guys, seriously, I know you don't like the foam questions, but there HAS to be a distinction made between people "stirring it" and people who just want clarification. Do not tar everyone with the same brush.

Leroy clarifying that the gimbal is an instrumentation issue, in all likelihood.

Happens on every mission.  Most reporters want the bad.  It'll happen until the end of the shuttle program.

Righto.  Just get tired of hearing it...can only imagine how the MMT feels.

Question from a Japanese reporter wanting to know about the difficulty of some of the operations.  Gerst discussing the difficulty of EVA-1 and the tasks involved.

Another Japanese reporter.  Asking about the flight schedule with the delays of some of the flights and cargo missions after 2010.  And Griff steps up to the plate...

Jay Barbree asking about the Shuttle-to-Constellation gap.  Griff basically saying what most know...the longer we fly shuttly, the longer we have to wait for Constellation.
Actually, I thought his answer to one of the embedded questions was good to underscore; he basically said that even a large amount of additional money wouldn't accelerate the Orion/Ares 1 timeline much at all.

Griff said he is concerned but he's confident in the cargo situation.  Hopes for commercial transportation eventually and has confidence in the situation, but not before 2014, most likely.  Not about transport though, hard to qualify vehicles.

Halberson asking about the CRV that was cancelled and whether or not Griff thinks it was a mistake to cancel it.  Griff not speculating and saying he's (Griff) not smart enough to have an opinion about it since he wasn't involved.

Harwood wanting to know about the tank timeline.  Gerst saying to wait until July when the next tank arrives to see where they stand.  All the vehicles have to be considered.

Another Japanese reporter.  Wanting to know if our guys feel that this is a milestone like Hoshide said.  LOL!  Griff - I'm not used to getting a Ph.D exam from the press (or something like that).  But yes, he does feel that way.

Japanese reporter asking a question in Japanese...I've got nothing ;)
That was Fox reporter being polite and asking the JAXA head about the significance of the launch.

Guy from Aviation Week wanting to know if the U.S. racks will be under-utilized with the additions of Columbus and Kibo.  Griff says no.  It took a lot of utilization planning in the past to make sure the space station will be fully utilized.
