The leak check procedures being worked also serve to verify the redundancy of the cabin VENT VALVE and the cabin VENT ISOL valve. These two valves are connected in series.

We are coming up to the next hold in the countdown in about 30 minutes, the T-20 minute hold. This hold will last 10 minutes and it starts at 3:47 PM EDT (7:47 PM GMT). We are now 1 hour, 46 minutes to the in plane launch time.

Did I hear GLS Mainline activation? Or was it an pre-advisory?

The GLS will not be brought up online until the T-20 minute hold is completed.

This countdown is going very smoothly, perhaps too smoothly, ;)

Let's hope for the countdown to continue so smoothly.

I agree with you Piero, I have been watching every mission of the STS program since STS-1 and I have seen countdowns like this where everything is perfect with the vehicle and weather and then some glitch occurs late in the count that scrubs the count, it's rare but is has happened before, hopefully not today!

The cabin pressure check is reported by the CDR to be 14.7 PSI now, this is our standard atmospheric pressure.

Whats the frequency, Kenneth? (Reagan quote)

Ask Dan Rather.  ;)  Great REM tune btw.

I like this more detailed narrative of the activities.  Most of us here probably know the basic steps involved but still makes it fun to hear it from someone who "knows".

Sooner or later, spaceflight launches will rival professional sports for PLAY BY PLAY analysis and commentary.

GLS Mainline activation is normally at around T-50 though...I think I may have missed the call.
