The Solid Rocket Boosters Rate Gyro Assembly's should be powering up about now. These are used to determine the body rates (the speed at which the vehicle is rolling, pitching and yawing) during the launch phase.

Allow subject to scream. In space no one will hear.

I came in on the tail end there of them discussing the launch window for today and how it is a little longer today than normal.  What time does the window today officially close?  I'm used to the 10 min window with launch time being right in the middle of it, so I'm guessing it will still be open after 5:07pm?

Take a look at this table by Bill Harwood:

http://www.cbsnews.com/network/news/space/124/124windows.html

Listed are the times - open, close, and in-plane - for each day.  The window stays open a little longer if they choose to rendezvous on FD 4 instead of 3. So the window is still 10 min for a FD 3 rendezvous.

If anyone is tracking Discovery today on their computers after launch with a satellite tracking program, you can cut and copy the pre-launch and launch two line element information from this site, this site includes the OMS-2 burn, NC1, NC2, NC3, NC4 TLEs for accurate tracking. Use the MET time (mission elapsed time) to copy the right TLEs.

Looks that way since the STS-120 crew did it.

The F.I.T. is coming back from the launch pad.  Nothing of issue noted so far.

Right outside the Launch Control Center, dropping off a few other people to the LCC.  Last stop before they hit LC-39A.
