"Any updates on how things are going with Columbus outfitting? Running way ahead of schedule again today? Will that affect decision on extra docked day?"
Crew is working away in the Columbus. One big activity was removing launch vibration mounts on the D1 rack. Crew continues ahead of schedule. The modulke itself is still not fully activated pending resolution of a computer problem. There will bea swap in C&Cs MDMs after the EVA to clear a clogged command buffer and then it should resume.

23 minutes left of TDRS-West comm, 30 minutes to sunset on this pass, Atlantis has just passed the equator to start orbit 97 of the STS-122 mission. The EVAers are making their way back to & into the airlock, spacewalk PET is almost 6:20 right now.

They are going to take another picture of the suspected MMOD hit on the airlock handrail, now MCC-H says they are NO GO for pictures, EVAers must ingress immediately due to EVA time constraints, they are admiring the view as the complex passes over the east central Pacific Ocean, southeast of Hawaii, and they will pass over San Francisco in about 7 minutes.

I looked on Google - the name is Jimmy Buffett.
LOL...you guys are making him sound like a nobody.
I had no idea that Jimmy and Poindexter were friends though...
Anyway, back on topic...

" The newly added European Space Agency module on the ISS is still waiting to be activated, due to issues with its command path..."
Sounds like a computer/software related problem...

Obviously the hw and sw were all tested on the ground but nothing beats "Implementation" for bugs to pop up....

EVA is soon approaching a PET of 6:30, they are starting to make their way into the airlock.
13 minutes left of West comm, 20 minutes to sunset.
My EVA comm coverage will finish with hatch closure.

dotdk - 13/2/2008 9:31 PM Maybe off topic, but can someone quickly refresh my memory on the story behind this MMOD shield being teethered down?
The issue arose while installing some new equipment on Destiny (an H2 vent valve for the OGS if I recall correctly, but maybe it was a GPS antenna...) They had to unbolt a pair of MMOD shields, just like they did two days ago with Columbus. The problem is, they couldn't get them bolted in place again, and with time running out and several fruitless attempts at bolting them, it was decided it'd be better just to leave them temporarily tethered. During the last 117 spacewalk, they tried to bolt them again, and again they failed. I think they even tried it another time last year, but I'm not sure. However, they're proving tricky and because this task is always left as a get-ahead, they can't devote it enough time.
Apart from this, I want to thank everyone who contributed to today's coverage, especially Felix and Richard, of course, for their incredible job! I couldn't follow this EVA as much as I'd liked, but reading it here was priceless.
