In light of yesterday's mission news, the media gathered at Johnson Space Center attended today's briefing appropriately garbed...
Um... was this a joke on the part of the media or did I miss something here? Sorry if I'm being too logical, but this doesn't make sense to me.

 Did you set that up? Would have been funny if Shannon and co had walked in to that.
Actually a cool photo as I always imagined the room to be larger for some strange reason!

In case you are watching NASA-TV right now, you may be wondering who is controlling the cameras on the ISS providing these different views of the station/shuttle complex. The cameras on the ISS right now are being controlled by the INCO officer in MCC-H to look at how various areas of the station are faring. It can be somewhat dizzying as you never know where INCO is going to look next, this is normal as the ISS/shuttle crew are now in a pre-EVA #1 procedure briefing on board the ISS, that is why the A/G channel is very quiet right now.

The complex is traveling over the middle of the Pacific Ocean, Atlantis has started orbit 50 of the STS-122 mission, around 23 minutes to sunset on this pass.

I was just the photographer (and for no other than reason than I was the guy who happened to have his camera) but credit goes to another member of the press corps for the masks.
And yes, Shannon, Safarin and Navias did walk in on it, which was how it was timed. I think they appreciated the humor...

Passing over Baja California, with the P4 and P6 radiators almost in-line with P1's.

If you are watching on NASA TV, the complex is passing over the northern part of Baja California, on a northeast pass over the Central USA at an attitude of 208 statue miles.
We just lost shuttle KU coverage due to ISS blockage, now have ISS KU with the tail of Atlantis in view.

They're also getting ready to downlink the umbilical well images. Guess what will be appearing in L2 in a few hours

The complex is flying over northern Minnesota, will pass north of Lake Superior, the shoreline of that lake is now in view, 8 minutes to sunset on this pass.

Avron - 10/2/2008 7:37 PM Looks like a new HD cam in Harmony... nice What is at that workstation.. looks busy?
That's Destiny, the camera is located towards Harmony, but the hatch at the end of the corridor is not PMA 1 leading to Zarya, but PMA2 leading to the Shuttle. Besides, the bike on the left side of the image is Destiny's. They haven't had time to get Harmony so cluttered... yet. Not really sure what the workstation is, though, it's not ROBO.
Sorry got the names mixed up already...
