Arirang 3 with the H-IIA in 2011?
http://in.reuters.com/article/worldNews/idINIndia-36253520081031

But to launch an 800 kg satellite with the H-IIA into SSO seems to be overkill. So is this for a dual launch?

Yes.
Japanese newsmedia said primary payload is GCOM-W1.

According to JAXA the launch of QZSS gets delayed to FY2010.

For FY 2011 if Arirang 3 and GCOM-W are launched together than Asnaro will probably use a non-Japanese rocket. They won´t launch a 400 kg satellite on the H-IIA alone.

What happened to the Korean Angara, the South Koreans were to pay the Ruskies to build them a launch center three years ago?I guess that program must be dead?

It's still going and got it's own thread in this section. A test vehicle of the first stage has been delivered, it's a non flight article for ground tests only. The first version of the SKLV will only place about 100kg in LEO. Capacity will be increased if and when an indigious liquid fuelled second stage is developed, to replace the rather inefficient sollid one, currently planned.

As to when the first SKLV will be launched, nobody really knows. Things will depend on the Angara, so my best bet is 2010.

Japan plans to launch an optical test satellite in 2012 and a full version 2014. The resolution should be below 40 cm.

Together with Planet-C JAXA will launch the first IKAROS test satellite. The satellite has a 20 m solar sail.

A bigger one with a 50 m sail and ion engine will come later.

Hopefully it'll fare better than Japan's last solar sail did.

Can someone point me to information about viewing launches in Japan?  In English if possible.  I'm a big fan of Ben Cooper's page for shuttle launch viewing -- something like that would be awesome.

I'm asking for a friend who lives in Tokyo and probably isn't going to make it to Florida to see a shuttle launch -- especially considering the fickleness of launch dates in general, and the expense of traveling that far.

That's GPM-Core (not to be confused with the related GPM-LIO satellite which is manifested for Taurus). Launch is scheduled for July 2013 according to MSDB.

According to the link you provided, HTV-1 is NET 9/1 = September 1, not September 9.

It was NET 9/9 in that time.
