Feng Yun-3A launch in May

The China National Space Administration informed that the Third Overall Coordination Meeting for Feng Yun Satellite-3 held in Beijing.
On January 22, 2008 Mr. Sun Laiyan, Vice Minister of COSTIND and Administrator of NASA attended the Meeting and made remarks.
Sun Jinliang, Chief Engineer and Meng Zhizhong, Deputy Chief Engineer as well as representatives from other agencies attended the meeting.
System R&D process reports were delivered, aviation experiment outline was approved and relevant problems were coordinated to be solved.
All of the satellite systems currently are running well. The satellite is planned to be launched in May.

homepage the launch of Feng Yun-3A will take place on May 28.

The Feng Yun 3A experimental meterological satellite was launched from Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre in northern Shanxi Province on 26 May.
The satellite was developed by the Shanghai Academy of Space Flight Technology. It is a three-axis, stabilised vehicle measuring 4.4 x 2 x 2 metres, with a launch mass of 2200 kg, making it one of the largest satellites ever launched by China.
