From the Mission Profile posted above, there is only GSLV D4 flying in the FY 2011-12. This, ISRO, Chairman said will fly with a Russian cryo to check out the vehicle design. So, the GSAT-14 would likely fly on a GSLV Mk-I.

This article was mentioned as being questionable on another thread. It raises a few questions; like how many upper stages remain; and why are they modifying an engine pump?

A high pressure booster pump in an indigenous cryogenic engine that had not performed upto expectations in an earlier GSLV mission has been redesigned and successfully tested. “We are even planning to integrate into the remaining Russian cryo engine to boost its performance,” he said.
I think it was this booster that failed on GSLV D3 was redesigned and when tested performed well - so ISRO might have introduced this design change into the Russian cryo as well.

I think a careful reading (see marking in blue) would suggest that the Russian cryo would be tested first and this would be followed with a test flight of the Indian cryo. Perhaps, this means that there will be a second GSLV flight in 2012.
The Mission Profile on the ISRO Annual Report is not an absolute timeline. It is a rough timeline "as planned" not "as executed". ISRO is still testing the Indian cryo sub-systems. It would need at least 3-4 tests at a system level before it will be flown. This would probably push it to the end of 2012 in the best case scenario.
Let's see how this works out.

One of my souces in ISRO indicated that ISRO plans to launch GSLV MK-III with only the first and second stages into a LEO....that's a test launch with S200 boosters and the L110 engine
can any one confirm this...?
Is this feasible ?

Hmm. I was suggesting that GSLV D4 would be the one with a Russian cryo and the GSLV D5 will be the one with modified Indian cryo engine. D4 will test vehicle design with a proven Russian engine whilst D5 will test the Indian cryo was how I understood it.
Perhaps we should move this discussion out of the Indian Launch Schedule discussion?

As far I know, ISRO is seriously considering flying the GSLV with the Russian cryogenic stage. The shroud that stage needs to be strengthened and tested. A very expensive and long procedure for a stage which will be launched only once. The last launch of the Mk-I was supposed to be GSAT-7 which was supposed to take place this year if all had gone well.
IMHO, there is a reasonable chance that the last Russian cryo stage may go unused. D4 will indeed be a Mk-II development flight.

- Building of GSLV-Mk III will be over by 2012 end and launch would be in 2013.
The first stage, solid propellant booster S-200 has been tested and qualified; second and liquid propellant stage L-110 has also been tested. Work is yet to be completed in third stage, the cryogenic stage.

PSLV are workhorses with respectable payloads of about 1600 kg. In 2011, PSLVs will launch GSAT-12, the Megha-Tropiques satellite, GSAT-6 and Radar Imaging Satellite (RISAT-1), all from Sriharikota. Another GSAT would also be launched from Kourou, French Guiana, by an Ariane rocket from Arianespace in June 2011.
