The failure of the GSLV-D3 mission on Thursday will not have an impact on the Chandrayaan-2 mission scheduled for 2013
The next GSLV flight would take place in September this year but it would use a Russian cryogenic engine. It would put into the orbit a communication satellite named GSAT-5B. Another GSLV flight, also powered by a Russian cryogenic engine, would put GSAT-6 into the orbit.
Meanwhile, a core-alone Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle (PSLV) of the ISRO is scheduled to lift off from the first launch pad at Sriharikota between May 8 and 10. It has already been fully integrated at the first launch pad. It will put Cartosat-2B, an Algerian satellite, two nano satellites from the Norwegian defence establishment and Switzerland, and a Studsat into the orbit.
AISsat and Tlsat-1 launched in May.
But this whole article seems full of unbelievable statements. Does ISRO really have spare Russian engines?
Yes,there are two Russian cryogenic engines left with ISRO...Both are said to be of 9.5 tonne trust as against the earlier ones of 8 tonne trust.

That will be six months without a launch. Not looking good for the 6 launches per year.

Which one of the above is likely to have Indian Cryo engine?
Depends. India at present has 2 Russian cryogenic upper-stages which will be used on the next two GSLV flights (ie GSAT-5,6). After that there will a qualification flight of Mk-2(Indigenous cryo) which will launch the replacement for the GSAT-4. Depending on it's success ISRO will decide whether to order new Russian stages or go-ahead with the indigenous ones.
