As per the above list, Alsat-2A & Alsat-2B are co-passengers of Megha-Tropiques.
Megha will go into a special orbit of 20 deg inclination...Do Alsats fit this ?
How many Alsats are there ? Both 2A and 2B in same launch ?(In one artcle on The Hindu, There's mention of this satellite as being the next big foreign sat launch...and scheduled for April)
GSLV D3 to fly in Jan. Some MRR(Mission Readiness Review) meetings going on...will put the date of launch here once public...expect it to be Mid-Jan. Guys the Russians are around in SDSC-SHAR...Looks like they are/may be helping out...!!!!!

Guys the Russians are around in SDSC-SHAR...Looks like they are/may be helping out...!!!!! Does this means that the Cryo that India had developed is not completly Indegineous or Russians have hand in it? Or are they here to help out in assembling the vehicle at various stages? Anyway their help is always appreciated.

As the Risat-1 & Megha-Tropics are PSLV dedicated launches (single payload), Alsat shouldn't be along with either of these 2.
I guess, coming are (in the order): Carto-2B, Resourcesat-2 etc. In that case, next is carto-2B with Alsat-2A & few small sats; this must be after April as GSLV D3 in postponed for 1 month. I think press release has the mention of Alsat-2A only. Alsat-2B may be in talks.
Cheers

The list did not imply that. Sorry if the format was misleading..

What I have seen is there's a sense of reluctance to launch GSLV, the motor was ready a year ago...isro is still skeptical because it is new tech..
atleast for them.
Russians as always are helping out may be.

I believe ISRO has had a tough time building the cryogenic engine. i heard at least once that a full duration firing of the engine failed last year. that may be why isro is still cautious. much at stake in the case of cryogenic engine. therefore it is right to err on the side of prudence.

ISRO started building the engine from scratch.May be they are getting chills...Add on to that any failure will lead to a lot of negative publicity...(especially the guys in the electronic media will play on this for long just like they did for GSLVF02)..this engine's /GSLV MKII 's success is crucial as this will pave way for GSLV MKIII and MKIV which will be the main stay of ISRO for years to come and they use C25 cryo engines.(MKII uses C12.5)

Your list is perfect...No need to be sorry...Even Gunter's space page put Alsat-2A, Alsat-2B and Megha in one launch...But didn't find any evidence to suggest this anywhere else...so I was just trying to get some from anyone here on this forum.

How Indian Cryo is different from Russian supplied ones? Can I have differentiations pls along with specifications?
Thanks and Regards

If ISRO personnel are not still confident in the newly developed cryo engine, they can postpone it for some more time till they get "go-live" signal. As of now they can continue testing it. Nothing goes wrong if we postpone for 1-1.5 year. But if it fails it has a lot of negative impact on coming projects Chandrayaan-2, Human flight, Mars-1, M3 & M-4 etc and even slows down all smoothly going on PSLV launches... It might further impact PSLV commercial launches also. Already we have got enough -ve publicity for GLSV-F02 & Chandrayaan-1 failures.
We have been waiting for almost 16 years for indigenous cryo engine. We can wait some more time to hear the good news! ISRO can definitely make it, but takes some time. No one had earlier thought that ISRO would do Chandrayaan-1 perfectly in its 1st go; ISRO had operated it for 10 months successfully and creating many histories making it as one of the most successful MOON missions...

The launch of GSLV D3 is scheduled on Jan-20 as of NOW*
*(There's a debate going on regarding the cryogenic engine. In case of any issues, the launch may be postponed by months and PSLV launches preponed...I am not privy to the discussion but looks like it is regarding the material used in building cryo stage...on whether it can withstand the heat and vibration)
Please do note that in case GSLV gets stranded, It will occupy SLP making ISRO use only FLP unless ISRO decides to move the vehicle out.

There are problems with both the GSLV booster and the GSAT-4 spacecraft. The cryogenic engines are not developing enough thrust and there are problems with the electronics of 2 payloads. They are opening the spacecraft up so the final vibration will not happen until the end of Jan which puts the launch in late Feb, at the earliest. They may also have to remove one payload to get the weight down.

This is means that Cryo is not up to the mark. Moreover reduction of pay load means more weight cant be put up which is not a good sign at all. First of all we should concentrate on perfect working of Cryo even if we have to compromise on marginal weight.

It is now more or less evident that GSLV D3 is put on hold.
PSLV C15 may fly instead by Feb 2010.(preliminary date)

Impatience does build up with the long wait. however, it is important to get it right. so it does not matter even if its delayed even one year... coz it's an important milestone. any negative publicity can adversely affect india's space market operations.

I agree that it is important to get it right. My problem is with the lack of transparency. GSAT-4 was ready to ship to the launch site when the GSLV problems came to light and, even now, there is no acknowledgment that there is a problem.
