The development of Indian Cyrogenic engine is what kept out GSAT-3 and 4! And I think with the successful testing of ICE work on GSAT series and GSLV-Mk 3 will accelerate! GSAt-3 is already under construction and really dont have any idea about Third World Satellite-

Third World Satellite is the former name of the IMS-1 satellite launched with Cartosat-2A

well let me please add a few things here....
As per what ISRO chairman has said...they are supposed to launch 6 rockets in a year in the current five year plan...
but the truth is as of now that looks impossible...with ISRO facing Human Resource problems and many other delays on administrative side...
all the current launches are actually, left outs from the previous five year plan...
as of now there are two confirmed launches and the work is going on here...
PSLV C12 OCEANSAT-2 + (other sats...probably no SRE-2)
GSLV D3(?) GSAT-4+ TAUVEX
a january launch is IMPOSSIBLE....there is no stacking operation going on as yet.

IMS is not one satellite...it is actually a series like the IRS....the first being TWSAT(third world sat) or IMS-1...
on a lighter note...the name third world sat was odd...guess what ISRO will do if requested by SUPARCO(PAKISTAN SPACE AGENCY) to have a downlink terminal there...!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I dont think there is any kind of Human Resource problems! Actual work on the following satellites are on going----------
Healthsat, OceanSat, IRNSS-1, Astrosat, INSAT-XX and also SRE-2!
SRE-2 is already in the middle stages as work started in July 2008 after India announced 100 crores for preliminary analysis of manned mission!
SRE-2 is a part of that plan! It could go on in Sept-Oct 2009!

No it isn't. Check the isro press release: ISRO site:
http://isro.org/pressrelease/Dec20_2008.htmThe isro press release is usually atleast 3 days older than the release to press. I agree with the Sartori, it is very hard to predict their launch schedule when they update their website once in a blue moon.

gslv d3 gsat-4+tauvex

Beesat is Germa. SwissCube is Switzerland's first satellite (Swiss built). And itu-psat1 is Turkish. I don't know about UWE-2.

thanks for the information...
A pslv in normal config has so far carried 1600kg into polar orbits...what can be the maximum for a xl config....? the last launch of xl config was in an special elliptical orbit for chandrayaan...and it carried 1380kgs...!!!
hopefully there can be some other sats as well....
The chairman of ISRO in most of his interactions with press....when asked about foreign launches....has talked of....
a sat from singapore, algeria, italy and nano sats from netherlands...though he never gave any date or launch vehicle they will fly on....

UWE is German´s from University of Würzburg. It´s their second Cubesat.
First UWE was launched at 2005 10.27. like 2005-043C atop the Kosmos 3M from Plesetsk cosmodrome.
