Which payload will be on the lone GSLV launch, GSAT 4 or INSAT 3D?
Insat 3D or 4D? I think they are now in Insat 4 series. So if it must be Insat 4D and not 3D.

No, we are talking about Insat 3D, which has not yet been launched. It is a pure meteorological satellite.

input~2 - 14/5/2008 2:40 AM AFAIU, Insat-3D is now planned for launch in financial 2009-2010 (starting from April 1, 2009) while GSAT-4 has a tentative launch date on GSLV-(MKII) of September 29, 2008.
GSLV MKII launch now "targetted by this year-end" (ISRO Chairman declaration to the Financial Express, May 12 )

I was trying to update the Indian launch schedule but the information available is confusing. The previous plans called for a launch in July / August, a GSLV in September / October and a PSLV in November / December. We know that this plans have changed but we don't have any news about those changes.
There are various sats listed to be launched by India (Oceansat-2; Anusat; X-Sat; SRE-2; RI-Sat 1; YouthSat; etc...) but at this time the schedule is so confusing that I will need some help to do the schedule!
So, any help?

GSLV MKII launch now "targetted by this year-end" (ISRO Chairman declaration to the Financial Express, May 12 )
http://www.moondaily.com/reports/India_To_Launch_First_Lunar_By_Year_End_999.html
"Talking about ISRO's future plans, he [ISRO chairman G. Madhavan Nair - anik] said: "After launching Chandrayan-I, we are planning to launch a Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle with an indigenous cryogenic engine. All preliminary testing has already been completed and it's expected to be launched by March 2009""
There is no contradiction between the two dates, M. Nair had in mind the fiscal year when he said "by year-end". In India the fiscal year goes from April 1 to March 31.

I m pretty sure that there is a GSLV launch this year, even a news magazine quoted it...but not sure if it is MKI or MKII.....but this launch (if....)may fall at the year end and may push the launch of PSLV c12(oceansat-2) to jan'09 or so...

2009 to be a busy year for ISRO
http://www.thehindubusinessline.com/2008/06/21/stories/2008062150630700.htm
Taking this article into account, the Indian launch schedule should be amended as follows for the period 7/1/2008 - 12/31/2009
2008Only one "major" launch planned: Chandrayaan-1 tentatively on Sept 19 (PSLV)
20095 "major" launches are planned
RISAT-1 (PSLV)
ASTROSAT-1 (PSLV)
MEGHA-TROPIQUES (PSLV)
2 commercial satellites (could be GSAT-4 and INSAT-3D on GSLV)

According to this press release dated July 17 from the Indian Cabinet:
http://pib.nic.in/release/release.asp?relid=40458the next GSLV launch will take place in early 2009 with GSAT-4 ("early 2008" is presumably a typo in the release!) It will be the first MKII launch (GSLV-D3)
