No, the pods remain fixed on the stage. They are used secure the Cubesat during launch and to deploy the cubesats in orbit. It is just a standardized dispenser for Cubesats.

to SATORI...
i dont have a confirmation as yet but i will find it out soon...BUT OCEANSAT-2 AND SRE-2 ARE CO-PASSENGERS ON A SAME PSLV FLIGHT AS OF NOW...
one more thing i came to know recently is...
IT MAY HAPPEN THAT GSLV-D3(INDIGINEOUS CRYO STAGE) WILL FLY BEFORE PSLV-C11(CHANDRAYAAN-1)....THIS IS STILL NOT 100% CONFIRMED...THEN PSLV-C11 CHANDRAYAAN MISSION MAY MOVE TO DECEMBER(THIS IS STILL SPECULATION)
GSLV-D3 MAY BE DURING SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER FROM "SLP"

IMS-1 (Indian Mini Satellite-1){also called TWSAT} is the first of a new series of satellites started by isro(just like INSAT,IRS etc)...they will test new technologies and will be launched as piggbacks on larger ISRO satellites...

the UTIAS website gives another link:
rtsp://164.100.51.207/broadcast/DDLive?start=
not sure if it works or if it is complete....
anyways NDTV and CNN-IBN carry the feed of the national carrier live at the time of launch(most likely)
the website addresses are in my previous post....

ISRO Chairman: "The immediate thing is Chandrayaan. Right now, integration of the satellite is progressing. We hope to launch in the third quarter of 2008. That will be followed by the launch of the GSLV, by the end of the year. This will be the GSLV Mk 2 with the indigenous cryogenic stage."
Sounds like there will only be one GSLV launch in 2008.

AFAIU, Insat-3D is now planned for launch in financial 2009-2010 (starting from April 1, 2009) while GSAT-4 has a tentative launch date on GSLV-(MKII) of September 29, 2008.
